Want to buy myself another gun in the $750 range (new or used). Be willing to go as high as $850 for something compelling.

It will be for range and CCW (when I move to a state that allows it).

I currently own a Glock19 for HD and shooting at the range and I just bought a Walther P22 for plinking and such.

I am not committed to any particular round, but I like the 9mm since it's fairly cheap to shoot and in hollow point still offers good ballistics for defense.

I am a fan of the HK P2000SK and 45C (yeah, I know it isn't a 9mm :) ). Sigs are also cool.

Maybe I'm overlooking some other cool option. Opinions are very welcome.

If you like sigs, I just picked up a Sig GSR that I love... looks to be in your price range. Just my 5cents.

You need a good 1911. Get a decent quality used one, maybe pick up a conversion upper for it later--they're a hoot.

Or, if you REALLY like 9mm.....try to find a nice, used 9mm 1911.

I would own a Springfield XD 9 in subcompact and I'd spend the the 200 bucks leftover on ammo and a good holster (the Crossbreed supertuck is hard to beat).

The beauty of the XD series is that if you buy a holster for one, and you end up getting a 45 later, the same holster works. I have three XD's, have shot thousands of rounds through all of them with nary a misfeed - even on reloads. I carry each under different circumstances.

Big jacket days get the .45 ACP service and the DeSantis Speed scabbard (for OWB).

Lighter weather days get the 9mm subcompact or the .45 ACP in the Crossbreed Supertuck.

For my money - they're as good as any other polymer gun on the market.

You've got a serviceable 9mm. Now ramp up to a .45.

I picked up a beautiful and dead-accurate Remington Rand with a Colt National Match barrel for considerably less than that just a few years back. You'd be pressed to find a gun like that for that little now, but good .45s are out there for less than you are looking to spend.

When you get around to it, trade the Glock for a Beretta.

For a professional level of accuracy and the ability to daily carry. (aka. toss it around), I would opt for the Smith & Wesson M&P9 Pro Series. This is a competition level shooter at a street fighter price.

Smith & Wesson has been taking quite a few competition titles with the M&P line and they will take a lot more this year since the M&P9 Pro Series is now IDPA & UPSA approved. (Sales number requirement)

For the $ you are working with, I was going to recommend both of these brands to you! I loooove my H&K USP compact:)

IMHO H&K, along with Sig, really do make "cadillac and ferrari" of the pistol world. I'd say the Sig is the Cadillac and H&K is the Ferrari!

But seriously, do yourself a favor and go with H&K or Sig..maybe even a nice 1911.

*edit* Probably should have said that if you are going to carry it IWB, a thin design like the Sig P239 or a 1911 would work best. Good luck!

Ditto pokeral, if I had 750-800 burning a hole in my pocket, I would get a Sig GSR. I've shot my friend's a few times, love that gun!!!!!

Walther PPS 9mm. It's a great conceal carry pistol; thin, small, light, accurate, reliable and typical German quality fit and finish.

maybe a glock 34, since it'll be an extension of your HD? but if you want to carry a 9mm... how about trying a CZ P-01? that 19 which you already have will make an excellent carry pistol too btw... maybe another 19?
