Wow, a kindred spirit! I'd like one in 20 gauge. The 12 is pretty awesome, though.
I do have a fave 20 gauge SxS Spartan AKA Baikal, but it doesn't fit perfect, a little more drop would be nice. The Winchester was perfect right out of the box. Neatest thing about it is the soft recoil. It has just got to be one of the softest shooting gas guns out there and it's not that heavy, either.
My Beretta 682 Supersport sets up almost perfect for me. Most Remington 1100's and 870's feel real good as far as fit and pointability. Beretta 390 series guns also feel good although they can be shimmed and adjusted to fit. I once picked up a Merkel SxS double in 470 nitro express that I fell in love with. It was used but fit me like it was custom made for me, it was actually a good deal at $3500, too bad I didn't have the funds at the time.
Mossberg 500 with a limbsaver, just about as perfect a fit as I have ever had. More meaningful cause it was the suggestion of our own, shotgun guru, the late Dave McCracken who taught me a lot about shotguning.
Almost any Remington offering is a grab-and-shoot proposition for me; my body type must be close to that of their "average shooter" spec. Brownings, Berettas and guns from a bunch of other makers of quality arms need some tweaking before they feel right, but the tweaking is always worth it. I bought a Huglu O/U that fits me like it came from their custom shop, go fig.
I have a Beretta BL-3 20 gauge that fits me to a T. These guns were dropped in 1976. I had custom choke tubes installed and wouldn't sell this gun if I was dead broke. My Verona 501 28 gauge is a close second.
Browning superposed and I believe the 870 wing master fits me well also. A buddy of my let me try his wing master last year during pheasant and I nailed a cock bird flying over at 40+ yards....I was dumbfounded. Some guns just fit
The one SG above all others that truly feels like it was manufactured just for me, is my Stoeger 20 ga. single shot. This is not an expensive SG by any means, but it does have a couple of bells and whistles considering what it is, integral chokes, a safety, VR, center bead, and above all, it fits me like a glove. It's not a bad looking SG either, nice looking furniture.
Beretta 686 Onyx. Also most Remington's. Most guns are designed to fit most people and you can learn to adjust slightly to shoot most guns. So for many of us it is the gun we are used to. But I agree that some feel just right.
japanese knock off of the winchester m37. it was given to me in peaces instead of being thrown in the scrap metal pile. the barrel and recoil pad had been cut with the same dull axe. i put it together, recut the barrel, put on an old lace up recoil pad, and painted it. the darn thing fits like a glove.
