What size 1911 do you favor and I don't mean the barrel/slide/grip length?

Single stack, flat mainspring housing, long trigger and the grip safety that comes on Kimbers. This gives me the perfect trigger reach.

Flat steel mainspring housing (strongly prefer checkered at 20 or 25 lpi).

Standard GI pattern grips, full checkered or half checkered (Ahrends' "Tactical Pattern")--never found the double diamond pattern terribly appealing. Thin grips make the gun more comforatble for carry but I don't like them for shooting.

Long trigger (prefer solid aluminum or CMC or STI over three hole types for asthetic reasons).

1911 means single stack. I only have a Government Model right now, but I wouldn't mind trying a Commander. Don't think I'll ever get one smaller than that.

I prefer a high ride beavertail grip safety with a pad. My favorite is the Caspian; second favorite is the Wilson #298.

Extended single side thumb safety is close to a must have. I prefer the CMC. Second choice would be the Ed Brown Tactical.

I like a checkered front strap at 25 or 30 lpi, but I can do without it.

For a defensive weapon, I have come to believe that the XS Big Dot express sight system is a distinct advantage.

Single stack grip between 1.25 and 1.3 inches wide. The Les Baer Thunder Ranch and the STI Trojan are too thin for me.

Flat checkered mainspring housing and checkering on the front strap and grips.

Medium trigger and I do prefer a beavertail.

Even though I prefer the rounded front strap on Kimber or Wilson over the the old Springfield square frame, I like the square front strap of the RRA or Les Baer. The difference must be the way on the RRA/LesBaer the front strap is cut straight up to the trigger guard instead of the curved angle just before the trigger guard of the other guns.

I like the Meps on my Kimber. I've never tried the Heinies. I had the low profile Novaks on a Beretta Elite II and I did not like them nor did I like them on Springfields I've rented.

Single stack, arched MSH, long trigger, slim extended thumb safety, and I can live with everything else.

Don't know how it's done down south, but up here, when somebody talks smack and doesn't back it up... they owe. I'll be expecting you ta send me your best Florida cap, which I'll promptly use for target practice with that Tiger Hawk gripped 1911. :D
