So recently I bought a stainless ruger super blackhawk , less than a week later I bought a ruger super blackhawk hunter, and I also have a ruger super blackhawk thats blued. Needless to say I had 4 .44 magnums including my model 29-3 smith. Well I decided today to trade for a ruger vaquero in .45 colt , but its no normal vaquero , it has gold inlays on the cylinder, pearl/ivory grips?, case hardened and in immaculate condition, barely a turn line and NO BURN MARKS on the cylinder face!!!!:what: Im ashamed to say I kinda cheated the other guy seeing as mine was in not so hot condition and he included ammo. So my question is, is this a distributor special or is it a different animal entirely?

Ruger Vaquero 60th Anniversary, 45LC, Blued, Gold Inlay, Commemorative, Model #05135, NV-455-60. But someone changed the grips to ivory.

Barry the Bear

While I don't know all the particulars of the deal I think you came out ahead with that Vaquero!

Sort of sounds like being in the right place at the right time with the right gun to trade.

I would have made that trade so fast it could have broken the sound barrier.

Looks like the front sight was modified. At least, it's different than every other Vaquero I've seen.

Very Nice Barry!

Good trade! Not sure what the original grips looked like, but I really like the way the white grips contrast with the rest of the gun.

Is that rust on the barrel?? Something looks mucked up. If som you have kind of fancy shooter. Other wise contact ruger and ask them what it is.

Nice piece I have one in. 44 mag high polish stainless that I traded my spare SBH for

Actually thats my camera , the sights the same as my other vaquero
I see the shadow now after enlarging the pic. If looked like someone had flattened the rear of the sight for a better, non-reflective sight picture.

Nope. The sixgun in question is a large frame Vaquero with a case colored frame and the one you referenced is a mid frame, full-blue New Vaquero. I don't know how someone could look at the pics of the two guns and think they were the same. I don't have the particulars on this model but Ruger made a lot of them (1990's???) and they carried a slight premium over the standard Vaquero. The grips are original.
