If you are seriously considering a 9mm semi-auto, do yourself a favor and head to a range that rents guns; or take some of your buddies along who own guns and have them bring them along -- you can supply the ammo. Take your time, and test-drive a wide variety of handguns. Before long, you'll find a single pistol that best fits your hand and eye, and that's the one to get, regardless of all the well-meaning advice that you'll find here. Just be sure that you give the Walther P99 or P99C a thorough trial run before you make any decisions. No list of quality firearms is complete without it.
