hey guys Im doing a 300 build 8 inch barrel yes an sbr what twist rate do you like id like to shoot both subsonic and super sonic ammo thanks
what twist rate for a 300 blackout barrel?

1/7 or 1/8 will do fine unless you are playing with cast bullets a lot.
What bullets are you thinking about?
I have an 8 twist bolt action 16 inch barrel that will shoot 125g spitzers around MOA at 100. 220g smks subsonic are stable and perform well, 208 AMAX does ok too. 240 SMKS shoot very well and are just over MOA at 100 yards subsonic. Cast lead 250g bullets perform well subsonic too.
The 10 inch SBR AR15 has a 7 twist. Have not bench tested the rifle, but it performs well with 125 noslers and 220 SMKS. Mag length restrictions keep the heavies for the bolt.
I have not had a lighter bullet come apart or anything like that, if that is what you are worried about. I doubt you will get anything to go past 2300 fps, which even with the fast twist, should not tear up any jackets.
