Since many of us have been loading for so long there must be a multitude of first presses out there. So what was you first press and do you still have it. Pics welcome for any presses over 25 years old.

My first press was a Herters Super Model 3 I bought used in 1962.

I replaced it with a RCBS Rockchucker in 1970 and I'm still using it.

The old Herters was a heck of a strong press, but the inability to use standard shell holders made it a PITA as new stuff came along.
I made a shell holder adaptor, but it was still a PITA.

I still have my first and use it regularly. It's an old RCBS RS2 I think ? All I know is it is a full "O" design made of iron indestructable press. I have another some what newer RCBS press from the mid 1980's RCBS full "O" design also. Both are over 25 yrs. old and both will deffinitely out live me, and probably out live my Son's as well.

RCBS Rockchucker, I dont have it anymore as I sold all my reloading gear when i moved away from home for college.
I loved that press, worked perfect and felt a bit more solid then my currant Lee press (the lee works great also, just isnt as heavy and solid feeling as the rockchucker).

Mine was a Pacific C-press made back when Pacific was Pacific, 1950's. Still have it but don't use it. Now use different presses for different jobs.

I bought a Lee 3 hole turret press in 1984. I am still using it today. I had some problems last month and Lee fixed it for free. I will use this one until I can't load anymore.

I am a fairly new reloader so I am on my first presses. I acquired both second hand. One is a lee pro 1000 that just collects dust/needs work. The other is a single stage. I think it could be a rockchucker but have been told it may be lyman. All I know is its green, solid, says jr on it and has flawlessly functioned to produce over 1K rifle rounds.

Slowfuse

Do you think it might be a RCBS JR?

I started with the RCBS Partner. It is in the drawer. It has been replaced with a Lee BL Classic Cast, Pro1000, & Load Master. I have a LNL AP EZject also but have yet to use it.

My first press is an RCBS of the non-Rockchucker variety. It is either a Jr, Partner or Reloader Special, but most probably the latter I think. It is circa 1980.

I still have it although it is only used for decapping and some case forming chores (38/45 Clerke).

My first press is a Pacific, don't know much about it, just had it about 2 Weeks. Just starting to reload and got the press and a bunch of other equipment off a friend for almost nothing. works well and is very sturdy.

My first reloading press was a RCBS Rock Chucker. That was about 35 years ago and I am still using it today.

It is a good piece of equipment without any corrosion. It works as reliably today as it did when I took it out of the box.

I guess you could say my Dad's Herters Number 3, which he got in the sixties, I remember it as a little kid, and I now have it and use it when loading some rifle calibers

Dillon XL 650. Going on ten years and I still use it. I did recently rebuild some of the components with replacement parts from Dillon

Rock Chucker 40 years ago...still going strong. It compliments my 4 year old RCBS Pro 2000 progressive. My first reloader wasn't a press tho, it was Lee's Target Loader in .243 caliber.........and a mallet.;) I'm almost as old as rcmodel. :)

Mine was a Lyman, it could be mounted, or set up to be used as a portable press. I, think Lee make's a model like it. I, don't have it anymore, but the Hornady Projector I, bought to replace it is still in use, as well as all my other presses.

First press that i remember is a Rockcucker, but it "seems" like i had a Jr. before that??? Both are long gone, but the next press that i bought after that in the early 70's, is a CO-Ax and it's still tight and works perfectly...

Today i have "that" CO-AX and my dad's OLD Rockchucker on my most used loading bench.

First purchased press was a Lyman O frame that was defective (bad alignment of the ram). I sent it back and bought a Rockchucker, was never dissapointed. Still have it and it works great. Then the others started showing up..
