I realize this is about 4 years early to be discussing since it probably will be announced by manufacturers in 2010 or so. But who cares!
Any guesses on what the various 1911 makers will roll out for the 100th Anniversay of John Brownings most famous firearm? I predict it will be big and expensive. Somehow I imagine Colt will go bananas and have a ultra limited edition platinum plated work of art, with less limited gold and silver plated versions. Smith and Wesson will probably also have nice looking ones. Hmmm these will be a lot of $$$$. Better start saving now. Any guesses on how collectable these Centennial editions might be? I be the special presentation cases will be fancy wood and briefcase sized. Springfield Armory will probably have theirs in a WW1 replica ammo box outside, but inside is nice velvet lining and other fancy things. Heck I bet most are like that inside. It should be if you pay big money.
P.S. Bet you this is a record holder for Zombie threads. Probably comes back once a year like Groundhog Day.
