I know many different combinitions will work, here is one of them.Rifle 1/2
stock Hawken style, Barrel old H&H .45 1-60 twist bought in 1975. Open sight
flintlock, Load 90 grs Goex FF, .454 round ball. .022 Teflon coated patch.
Shot from sandbag rest 100 yds.

H&H barrel

I get similar results with 80 grains and open sights from my 45 cal H&H barrel purchasd new from Hoppy in 1978. My barrel has slightly more rounded (oval) bottom rifling and a choked bore. Hoppy knew how to make barrels for sure. Wider grooves than lands.
