OK,
We already know those folks do not want any of us to have any firearms at all. That is why they have these laws. Making sense has nothing to do with it.

Now, it sounds like you have to have a permit just to buy a pistol, is that right ??? Otherwise I'd say a CCW is like a lot of other places, you need power, or money, or connections to get one.

We are moving to a friendly State when I can retire from this job.

(b) A Class B license shall entitle a holder thereof to purchase, rent, lease, borrow, possess and carry: (i) non-large capacity firearms and feeding devices and ammunition therefor, for all lawful purposes, subject to such restrictions relative to the possession, use or carrying of such firearm as the licensing authority deems proper; provided, however, that a Class B license shall not entitle the holder thereof to carry or possess a loaded firearm in a concealed manner in any public way or place; and provided further, that a Class B license shall not entitle the holder thereof to possess a large capacity firearm, except under a Class A club license issued under this section or under the direct supervision of a holder of a valid Class A license at an incorporated shooting club or licensed shooting range; and (ii) rifles and shotguns, including large capacity rifles and shotguns, and feeding devices and ammunition therefor, for all lawful purposes; provided, however, that the licensing authority may impose such restrictions relative to the possession, use or carrying of large capacity rifles and shotguns as he deems proper. A violation of a restriction provided under this paragraph, or a restriction imposed by the licensing authority under the provisions of this paragraph, shall be cause for suspension or revocation and shall, unless otherwise provided, be punished by a fine of not less than $1,000 nor more than $10,000; provided, however, that the provisions of section 10 of chapter 269 shall not apply to such violation.

Technically, it appears that you can carry a concealed, unloaded, non-hi-cap firearm, but you may want to check and see if there's already been a test case. Realistically, you shouldn't carry open in MA - there are brandishing laws (IIRC) against it, and it's just plain asking for problems with sheelple and the local police.


As already mentioned, you should check out www.goal.org and www.massgunlaw.com.

Also, you can sue the cheif to try to force them to give you a class A LTC, and the only reason to list is "All Lawful Purposes". If it's "For Target Shooting Only", and your car breaks down on the way to the range, you better take the guns home before accompanying your car to the mechanic's, or you'll be in violation of your license.

in your interview, use the analagy of a cell phone. what good would it do in an emergency situation if you couldnt carry it with its battery installed, because some law wants to prevent people from calling the operator accidentally or unnecessarily.
ask the detective if in his firearms training, were they told the average number of seconds before they would need to draw their weapon, and if they had to fumble for a magazine, insert it, rack the slide, how many more fatalities they would have on their hands?
and you can quote the statistics that prove that women are targeted as victims of assaults more often than men are.

Mas, it floors me to think that your safety means little or nothing to these fools. An assault on someone only needs to happen once for a chance on YOUR LIFE ! Being the victim of an early morning (4am) home invasion type burglary myself, It only takes once to think of the ways to prevent a repeat occurrence.
