What would you buy for $800?

Springfield 1911 Loaded

Probably at the top of the list if I go with another handgun; I am leaning toward another Ak, I have lot's of ammo for it. I was dissapointed in the quality of the Romy I sold; I would need something higher quality. Maybe Bulgarian w/ a milled receiver?

yeh, but it doesn't take AK mags, does it?? Great looking rifle, though. Just googled some video's of it.
No, but it has no other parts in common, either. Lighter than an AK, even with the milled receiver. Very nice handling. Recommended.

For a 1911 I might look used to get more pistol like a used Kimber but a SA Loaded would be a great choice as would be a Colt - if it's under $800.

I would buy two Norinco 1911's... one in .45 and one in 9mm and with the money left over I would buy the .45 dies.....

I had the same dilemma recently came upon 8 bills that were all mine to spend. Since I already have a 1911, I picked up a Walther P99 and I am super happy. It is half the weight of the Springfield, holds 10 rnds, and with adjustable backstraps, fits my hand perfectly. So far just one box through it, and lovin it.

Unfortunately, they do not take AK mags.

Fortunately, mags are not uncommon... but a little more expensive than AK mags. $800 gives me a $150 cushion to buy more mags.

let me put it as a downpayment for an m1a scout.

also, if you want an ak, get a siaga and convert it to save some cash and then buy ammo with what ever is left over

i second the m1a/m14 even if you have to sell another firearm or save up for one or get a good usgi m1 grand.

Is it going to be an Arsenal SGL21-66??

OK; I have cases & cases of 7.62x39, and I am really leaning toward another AK, something of higher quality than the last WASR I traded off. I am leaning toward an Arsenal AK (Saiga) with the aluminum forend rail. K-Var has it for $699 base conversion, $799 with the rail.

Any reason to NOT go with the Arsenal????Any reason to not use K-Var?

AKElroy,

The easiest way to solve this problem is to inventory your stuff and write down your goals.

For example, if self-defense is your #1 priority, do you have two full carry guns and rigs that are identical? Have you attended training on law, tactics, and defensive type shooting? I encourage you to attend training over buying another gun.

If sport shooting is your thing, then does your current inventory cover the sports you like to participate in? If so, just buy ammo and reloading supplies.

Use what you have.
