What Would You Carry?

On your list I’d go with 3914, 6946 or 4513.
As substitutes, 3913, 908 or 457
Yeah, I like S&W third Gens:)

My criteria for a concealed carry weapon:

Must be effective. 9 mm is reasonably effective and there are 9 mm cartridges that push the bullets fast enough through a short barrel to reliably expand through clothing.

Sufficient capacity. Again 9 mm is a good compromise between stopping power, magazine capacity, and concealability.

Ammunition availability. 9 mm is one of the most available pistol cartridges.

The pistol must be reliable.

For that reason I chose a striker fired pistol. There are too many potential reliability problems with a hammer fired pistol, both mechanical and user created.

The Glock style 2-piece trigger safety is a joke. If all it takes is your finger to actuate the safety in the middle of the trigger, then some other object can also actuate the trigger and BAM! It's too complex and it's subject to contamination issues. A hinged one piece trigger is less prone to contamination issues. Likewise, grip safeties are also too complex and prone to user error.

Must have a manual safety lever because UNPREDICTABLE Sh*t happens!

Must have luminous sights because crime often happens at night.

NO optics because of concealability issues and potential reliability issues

Must be small enough to carry concealed.

Must be comfortable in my hand.

That leaves me with a Sig P365 with an XL grip module to fit my XL hands. I radiused the corners of the beavertail so that the web between my thumb and forefinger does not get hung up on the beavertail. I radiused the floorplate of the magazine and bottom of the grip to make it fit comfortably in my hand without irritation. I weighted the inside of the grip for better balance when the magazine is low on ammunition. I cut off the unused right side manual safety lever to better fit in my pocket holster. I extended the magazine release button so that I can actuate it without rotating the pistol in my hand. I installed a MagGuts spring kit providing a total of 14 rounds in the magazine and one in the chamber. The only other pistol that I would consider for concealed carry at this time is a P365XL. But that is almost too long for pocket carry.
