I know probably some of you will say move to a free country, but here it goes:

As some of you already know I have to 9mm, two CZ-85Bs (it is an ambidextrous version of the CZ-75B). Yah I know these are not the most modern designs nor are they as durable or reliable like some. The main reason I chose these pistols is because they have great ergonomics, steel frame (I know, it is cast, not forged, I hope it won’t break on me), cocked and locked capability with a safety on the frame just like the 1911…
I sold my Glock 19 last year to buy a new Glock 17 because I like full-size pistols and then came a problem…

A new gun-law. Yes, according to our new gun-law here in Bosnia and Herzegovina we are allowed to have only ONE pistol, and only ONE revolver regardless of its caliber!

So, I cannot sell a pistol to buy another one. Why? Because I already have one! So to get a new pistol I have to get rid of both my pistols. I bought two same pistols to keep one as a spare one, so if one breaks I don’t have to practice again to adapt to the new pistol.

Yes there is another option; I can exchange them so I’d still continue to own two pistols. There is a gun shop in Sarajevo in which you can take your used pistols and replace them with some new pistols that they sell paying the difference! They have Berettas, Glocks, CZs, XDs…

So what would you do? Get two G17, or two G19 so I’d have a more durable/reliable weapons, ore get lets say a Beretta 92FS and a G26 for concealed carry, or just stay with my CZ-85Bs which do work well and nothing has been broken yet but that’s the way we all are… You always like more what you don’t have. :D

I am guessing 9mm is the most prevalent ammo so I would lean toward a 9mm glock. I'm partial to the G19. If there was a diverse ammo supply I would get a compact glock in .40 and buy 9mm and 357 sig barrels as well as a .22 lr conversion kit.

I totally understand the logic of buying the same model. If I could only have two I would have to get something different. Probably a 1911, but that is the American in me.

I'd exchange them for a Glock 34 (or 17) and either the Glock 19 or 26. (My pairs would be G-34 with a G-19, or a G-17 with a G-26)

Being able to work on it yourself is very, very important in your situation. Parts availability and ease of maintenance are supreme with the Glock. This includes TOP ENDS. You can create nearly any mid-frame sized Glock you desire just by swapping out the necessary parts and/or top ends.

You can fix/replace/repair anything on a Glock at your kitchen table. This could prove to be vitally important, should another law pass..........so it behooves you to buy plenty of spare mags and parts while you can, not to mention ammo.

When people ask us what gun they should get, we tell them to go to a rental range and find out what they shoot best. It sounds to me like you already have what you shoot best. Maybe those CZs won't outlast a Glock in a torture test, but I don't think you will ever shoot them enough to wear them out. If something DOES break on them, you won't have any trouble getting parts.

Is it possible for you to join a shooting club and make some friends who can show you some variety, try some different guns? Right now I don't see any reason to switch, especially if you are the most comfortable with two of the same gun.

Well guess I can cross off Bosnia as a place to live. :D

What is the “gun” part in your country?

In the US only the frame is considered the firearm, so you could sell the frame and keep the rest of the parts.
