Alright guys so here is what happened the love of my life went to the lgs and she was looking for a set of lee 35 Remington dies the shop owner says no we don't have any currently well there was a guy in there who walked outside and came back in and said here I have a set 35 bucks and they are yours my sweetie thinking that is what I need reason why is because I am wanting to take the marlin 336 out for deer season which opens here soon she bought them problem is they are the lee collet dies :banghead: and only necks size the brass. Well it is a problem because I can't full length resize the brass :fire: I don't want her to feel like she made a mistake she tried hard she went to six stores so I'd hate to tell her she screwed up. So what would you guys do do you think under lee's warranty if I explain I can trade for a regular decapping die

Thanks for reading

Just quietly add a full length 35 Remington resizing die and let it go at that. You thank your well intentioned wife and tell her how pleased you are. Anyway, I would just add a die.

You should be able to just add a FL die to the inventory without having to say anything about it, thus avoiding any hurt feelings.

I had a similar incident when my wife, knowing I was going to purchase a 38/.357 die set years ago, she went to the LGS and picked up a steel sizing die, rather than the carbide, which is all I use. I thanked her, and then quietly found a buyer and then used the proceeds for a carbide set.

Well any ideas where I can pick one up for a decent price if anybody wants to trade I'm in

A - your wife is awesome

B - any extra you had to pay to pick up the individual die you need would be insignificant next to the value of having a wife as good as yours.

She goes to the gun store to buy reloading gear for you. They don't have it, but she stays in the game and comes home with the gear. Just buy the die you need and rock on down the road.

Exactly.

1. What I would do, is buy my wife some flowers or something for going through all that to get some dies.

2. Go to Natchez and see if they have the individual die and buy it, if not find it somewhere else and go about my business. If wife gets the package before you get home and questions it, then just say that you wanted the FL one as well, but you have to order it separate, and just let her be in the dark about buying the wrong one.

i think you should just add the reloading die after all your wife was trying to make you happy shes a good woman just get the other one and count yourself lucky

Yes gentlemen I know I am a lucky man for the record the 2 dozen roses and large amount of dark chocolate dinner at home from her favorite place she likes eating in oh and a trip to a mall where she got several things I know so I tried to let her know that I think she is the best thing that ever happened to me. So I agree guys with the advice and yes we shall keep this tiny secret between us  thanks

Just get it sent to your place of work if that's an issue. I doubt she'd know the difference even if it came to his house.

Update so I sent lee an email as a longshot and well they replied within the hour and said hey we understand no problem just ship in the die we shall switch them out me I'm pumped :D and the misses will never know

To all who say lee CS is bad or their products are no good shall forever fall upon my deaf ears I have only used lee since I started and I love thier products all of them no 98% yes I am a lee fan for life now :D

That kind of love doesn't come along every day, you already know that. You got a lot of excellent advise here, but you already knew what you needed to do.

Keep up the good work and cherish your wife for the excellent job she did.

your a lucky man!

Take care.

What would I do? I would keep quite and happily use the Lee neckdie. I've been Lee neck sizing for my 336/.35 ammo for at least twenty years with absolute satisfaction. The old .35 is a modest pressure round and the 'conventional wisdom' of not neck sizing for lever gun ammo is BS.

The 200 gr RN Rem Core Lokt at 2,050 fps kills white tail deer just as dead as my .243, 7 mag and .30-06 and we can eat the bullet hole - no lost meat. I luv that!

Why are periods falling out of favor? It's simple. Just push the key with the dot on it, like any other key.

Your first sentence contains, by my count, 112 (one hundred twelve) words.

That is a far greater transgression against us all than your wife's well-intentioned oversight.

Maybe next time she should buy you a dictionary, or a seventh-grade book on punctuation, composition and sentence structure...

My girlfriend at the time, now wife, bought me 380 dies for valentines day. She bought me rcbs dies. I prefer lee pistol dies, mostly bc of the powder through die. I tried and tried to make the rcbs dies work one night. Gave up told her thanks but I was returning them to get lee dies. She was fine with it. But I have an awesome woman.
