This R 15 is the only digital proof I have that ARs work well on yotes.
But there is no shortage of AR choices that work very well.

If you want to get into "non-standard" AR's the .243 WSSM offered by Dtech and Olympic will do even better than the .243Win :D And it fits in an AR-15 lower to boot.

RRA Predator Pursuit or even better a WOA Upper with a nice lower set-up for varminting (ie - a good trigger) - both of mine do less than 1/2" and I am no better than that - but I would be willing to bet there is something more left in the WOA.

Camera? I'd love to get close enough to photograph them, but perhaps not for the same reason as you. Here in South Carolina we have lost over a third of our deer herd (Think 20,000 fawns and yearlings), countless turkey, quail, dove, ducks, and small pets. A few months ago here in Charleston a dog was attacked in the middle of the day being walked on leash. The police trapped a dozen in a nearby park in the middle of the city and are still catching them. One ran through a children's playground. A friend in a nearby rural area has trapped 20 so far this year. And, they are breeding with wolves, growing larger and starting to run in packs. Many of my hunting friends have stopped hunting deer because there are so few in their hunting areas. They're buying predators guns of various kinds. Question: Has anyone used the newer CCI Velocitor .22 on coyote?

Get something chambered in at least 458 socom, them 223's just bounce right off em lol. Seriously though I'd take a look at the Remington r15 in 223 you can find em used at decent prices. My buddy has one and loves it. Accurate and reliable. I'm not much of a Remington guy either.
