Gun Values
Hey there:
The gun values you have been shown are probably close. BUTTTTT.
You are insuring them not selling them. The value is what it would take to replace them NOW. Not when you bought them or what you could get for them. The insurance company will use those prices if you allow them to. YOU are insuring your guns. If you do not care that is fine. Maybe they do not have high values. But some guns do. The insurance co. sells insurance. You saw my last post. Dont worry about what they are worth. What will it cost you to buy all new one s if you come home and they are all gone. More then likely you would not buy or even try to replace model for model. I have rifles that can not be purchased over the counter. Those would cost me dearly to replace. One has a scope that the make is no longer in business. It would take a new Night Force to replace it . My insurance guy just told me how it works. The insurance co, will look for a way to not have to pay or not pay current cost of replacement. That would not fly here. Home owners only covers a certian amount on firearms. It would not even touch in my case.
I insured every thing I opwn with this guy and paid up front which landed me a nice discount . The NRA could not even come close to what I just got over 30 K worth of gun insurance for. I put 20 on mine and 10 on any thing (guns ) that are not mine but on my property. I work on some guns too.
I learned a lot about insurance recently and found that I never was covered concerning my guns reloading equipment and such. At around $5000.00 thay wanted my guns and others guns in a safe. I just orderd one that wieghs 750 lbs, with the guns in there it will be over 900 lbs and they didn't think I would need to bolt it down. In case of a fir ethe safe co. will fix or replace the safe free and my insurance will also pay for a new one.
