What's missing from my handgun collection?

How about a Sig 220 or a Springfield XD? Other than the 1911, these are the best "other" platforms for the mighty 45ACP. Sorry, but the CZ, Glock and HK 45s are just too big and blocky feeling.

How about a Python or Smith 686 in 357? Maybe a single action like the Ruger Vaquero or Taurus Gaucho?

I think I would, if I were doing the WWII collection. As a purely accurate matter, certainly, the P1 is different, if only because of when it was produced. But if you are displaying in a case or shadow box, you have the general visual equivalent of a P38. You can always pick up an actual P38 later on.
Thanks, I think I will add this to my list, since the P38's are a little pricey. poppy

Did somebody mention .455 Webley?

If not, .455 Webley! :D

How about .38 S&W (as distinct from .38 Special.)

And there's .38 Long Colt or .41 Long Colt.

I also suggest a revolver in 41 mag. As far as platforms go, I see you have a 9mm already, but what about a BHP?

Also on the rimfire side, how about a 17hmr. Fun little rifle to shoot. I'm waiting to try a pistol in 17HMR2

A theme? When I got to this point of wondering what to buy next I picked a theme, this helped me trim out pruchases that did not fit and gave me more money and knowledge to pursue my theme. My themes are old Smith and Wessons, pre 64 Winchesters, and pre war Boker blades. No I don't even look at anything else, and study every bit of menutia I can get my grubby little paws on. It's helped me make my hobby a bit more profitable with informed purchases. I'm not making vast profits but just enough to help pay for a bit of my hobby. I still have a few utility guns and knives that don't fit into my themes, but then they are tools, not my hobby.

You need an Automag.

My Ruger 45LC is a Vaquero. I just forgot to specify. Thanks.

a Real Browning Hi Power! (9mm of course...)
Well, I have a BPH that was made during the Nazis occupation in WWII; does that count? poppy

If you're looking for another caliber for the mix, and like inexpensive mil-surps that're fun to shoot how about a Tokarev or CZ-52 in 7.62x25?

Gotta +1 the CZ 75 or Witness clone. Inexpensive, accurate, and truly great set of ergos.

IMO, the best bang per buck in a full-sized steel .45 ACP is the CZ 97B. For less than $500 NIB otd, I got a pistol that is every bit as accurate as a custom 1911 from one of the Big Names that I paid more than 3X as much for. It ain't that much bigger than any other "service" sized .45, and the exceptional ergos make it easy to shoot well with.

Also gotta agree that every accumulation needs at least one S&W or Colt .38 "police special" revolver. M&P, Official Police, or Police Positive.

Holy umm... *moley*. That is the most unique weird weapon I've ever seen. I wonder what the accuracy is like...? Velocities?

I do indeed appreciate all the responses, but maybe the thread is getting too long now. I already have both the CZ-52 and a T33, but thanks.

To noresttill, thanks for the link to the Cyrojet; very interesting. It doesn't fit my collection criteria, but I like to see unusual handguns.

And to all who continue to suggest S&W revolvers, thanks, but I just have not felt the urge to go that way. Maybe some day I will fall into a good deal and pick up a Victory model or a model 10.

And to all who suggest modern CZ's: I have started looking at them, but will continue to buy stuff that is no longer produced for awhile. poppy

M92FS
1. Colt Detective Special/Python
2. Beretta M92FS
3. SIG P226
4. FN Five seveN

and lastly S&W Model 10.
I had a Colt Detective Special once, but I made a trade for a Ruger revolver. I guess I am just a Ruger man when it comes to revolvers.

I do have the Beretta 92FS, I don't exactly know what a M92FS is, unless you are talking about a model gun.

I will have a Sig someday for the right price.

Can't afford the FN, and you S&W guys don't give up. poppy
