I want to shoot competitions with this

Where can i do that in the Northern Virginia area?

The only modifications i have on it are the grips, the mag well and the thumb safety, thinking about putting on a hi-viz fiber optic front sight too,

Try some action pistol stuff, IDPA or IPSC type stuff in stock gun classes. Maybe a handy local bowling pin or three gun match, steel matches would work too. A holster and three or four extra mags would get you going.

If you are gonna shoot IPSC, you will also need a pony tail, some lame martial arts moves to practice in the parking lot and a tactical knife for stabbing with your weak hand when the gun jams. :D

I've got my 7 round kimber mag, 4 cheap 7 rounders and 2 8 round wilson combat mags and a kydex holster. I think im going to get a Glaco FLETCH too.

I hadnt thought of steel matches. I think that would be alot of fun.

If you remove the extended beaver tail and flared mag well, you could also probably shoot it in EIC hardball matches.

For EIC matches you also CANNOT have:
full length guide rod
extended slide stop
extended thumb safety
magazine base pads
metal grip panels
Commander (combat) hammer

The trigger pull must lift 4 pounds.

Your pistol is legal for regular NRA Bullseye matches as long as the trigger pull will lift at least 3 and half pounds.

BTW, it looks like a longslide. If so, it would be illegal for EIC matches, since legal 1911s must be the same length as the regular service pistol 1911 or A1.

Its a standard 5 inch barrel. The beaver tail and hammer are stock, I dont want to down grade to have to play.

It would be eligible for NRA Bullseye matches without any modifications, but I think you would be limiting yourself since it has what appear to be non-adjustable sights.

I think your best bet would be IPSC or IDPA type matches, which sort of takes us back to where this thread started.
