fiber optic sight on Taurus Tracker

I have a Taurus Tracker 627 revolver which I would like to put a fiber optic site on. Its pinned and I have found the Hi-Viz model sight for S&W 617 sight to be the closest to that sight and in the reviews others have used them with the Taurus with slight modification (sanding .004" off each side of the base to fit the groove). Have any of you Smiths or DIY'ers ever done this ? HI-Viz doesn't make any sights for the tracker.

Not with that particular gun, but I have done it on others. The process is not uncommon.
