Im talking about shooters training of course. I and a friend are interested in taking some pisotol and assault rifle training courses together. I just love to shoot and want some good training, my buddy is going into law enforcement and eventually swat.

We live in SE Texas and want to keep our triaining in Texas though well go as far as Dallas, Nacogdoches, Ausin, San Antonio, Beaumonte, and Corpus Christi. Price is not so much an issue(you get what you pay for), we just want to get the best available.

Specifically we want classes for Defensive pistol, conceal carry, home defense, assual rifle and night time/ low light tactics.

more in depth then basic. training beyond that of what one would be able to easily find at thier local shooting range.

Few instructors will call their courses advanced. There really aren't any advanced super-secret techniques. There are just people who are very, very good at the basic fundamentals.

Try some of the links in this post. Most of the Tier One instructors take their courses on the road. I'm sure you can find what you are looking for with one of them:

In the Houston area, look at Brian Hoffner ( http://www.hoffners.com/ ). Hoff has classes for pistol, rifle, shotgun, knife, FOF. If you want to just meet him, check his website. He shoots pretty often at The Impact Zone in Houston. Also travels and puts on courses in Victoria a couple of times a year. Low light shooting and tactics, he has some good stuff to teach w/' a flashlight.

I've taken some pistol and rifle classes from him.

Forgot. John and Vicki Farnam make a couple of trips a year to Victoria as well. Their classes are excellent, and for the basic class, or women basic students, Vicki is outstanding. John and Vicki teach that class together. Normally there is a basic class running on one range, and an intermediate class on another.

John is a very reality-based person who trains internationally.

The Victoria classes have been pistol lately, but a rifle class might be doable.

Suarez Interational

Glenn Matthews of Suarez International is teaching Close Range Gunfighting in Tyler 20 - 21 June and in Waco 29 - 30 August. I can personally vouch for Glenn.

Dan Agakian is teaching Advanced Rifle Gunfighting in Tyler 15 - 16 August.

Roger Phillips is teaching Point Shooting Progressions in Tyler 26 - 27 September.

Check out www.krtraining.com outside of Austin a touch.

I can attest that Karl is an excellent trainer and brings in well known national talent.
