What's the most obscure handgun you've ever carried?

There are 2...

I carried a Semmerling LM4 for awhile and once upon a time I carried a C.O.P. before I realized it was kinda silly.

Way back in 1973 before I was 21 I carried a High Standare 36 Copy of the Griswold Gunnison loaded with Pyrodex and greased with vasoline. It fit in my boot with the 7.5 inch barrel resting on the inside bottom and keeping the weight right there.
My first real revolver was a M 28 , 4 inch Highway Patrolman. Not the ideal concealed carry piece , but then I wore it in the open mostly. Later came a 1911 custom Clerk Colt.
Now ugly plastic stuff.

I packed a 1908 Dryse Schemmeria 32 ACP loaded with Glaser safety slug ammo for a while.

I do carry a 4 5/8 Ruger Blackhawk .45 Colt with stag grips in a Mernickle PS6 Single Action System a lot during cold weather when I can wear a heavy coat.

If you count them as obscure (I wouldn't, given that you can buy either for under $230 right now), I have carried a cz-82 and a makarov. The cz-82 is still a very, very viable carry option for me, for the sole reason that I shoot it very well. Every time I have carried it, I have always done so with the idea that a hit with a 9x18 is better than a miss with a 9mm, 40, or 45, and I still don't own a carry gun I can shoot as well (I'm getting there with my EMP, but am still not there yet)

Perhaps I just got a good one, but the trigger on mine is as good as a tuned 1911. In both DA/SA, it makes the DA/SA trigger of my Sig 226 feel like a gritty heavy pos.

Probably the oddest was the Swedish Husqvarna m/40 Lahti....I carried it in Fairbanks when it got really cold (-40F or lower.)

It worked and functioned very well. Not as elegant as the Luger, but close and very reliable.

Franz Stock 25 one night down south. Hoped I'd never need it and never did it again.

It would have to be a three way tie between my colt woodsman, amt .45 , and tok TT:D. maybe not somuch obscure but rather odd.

A S&W 520, it is a fixed sight, N frame in .357. They were originally made for the NYSP. Not to be condused with the new L frame.

4V50 Gary,

I had a Mauser HsC in Germany in the 1980's that I would stuff into my helmet bag when flying the border. I saw one on gunbroker in NIB condition at a local gunshop near my home for $325; I was interested since I never did solve the BAM, BAM , JAM problem with the first one and thought I would give it another try. Was your reliable?

It was in nice shape but was turned off by the big Interarms roll mark and picked up an older S&W M36 instead.

A Browning 1910 in 9mm Krutz (aka. .380) Great little pistol except for the European mag release and the almost sights. But other then those two things, perfect!

In the police academy and as duty gun for 5-6 years, then assigned truck gun duty. Currently residing in the safe, is my full-size Colt Double Eagle .

Nearly as obscure is my Grandpa's Nazi-marked Hi-Power. Id carry it on duty but the sights are SOOOOO small...
