Gotta go with the Ruger .22 auto. I take mine to the range every trip, and always see 2 or 3 more there. Now if the question is which is my favorite, that would be the 1911A1.
On a global scale, the Browning High Power has everything beat.
Since 1937 Millions have been produced and most are still in service.
It even beats the Glock in numbers still in use.
I have become quite fond of my Glocks however. and they are my favorite centerfire pistols.
I use, carry, and enjoy my rimfire Smith and Wesson handguns just as much as my Glocks though.
Geez I don't think I can answer this question with just one choice!
otomik's post below mine says my question doesn't make sense.
Actually my answer makes sense in the fact that more day to day gun carriers strap on Browning High Powers, or clones thereof, than any other single type of handgun when viewed from a global perspective.
In most cases these High Powers are the only handguns the folks that use them are ever going to see or use and as such it makes the High Power the most popular day to day handgun for many carriers on a global scale.
I as a free man have no such restrictions and no real bias to what I may carry day to day, and depending on what I am doing, I have a wide variety of handguns to choose from and cannot say in that I have one and only one that I choose above all others.
I voted Ruger .22 auto because I always seem to have at least one of those. That has been the one constant in all my gun trading years. You got to have a good .22 handgun and one of the most common is the Ruger MKII. You can always find one at a gunshow or a local store and they never wear out so all that have ever been made are still working somewhere. There must be millions of them floating around.
