Of those listed on the poll, the 1911. I've been really into CZs and derivatives lately, but the 1911s are a close second.

Also, the Taurus PT99 is my gun that I've fired the most.
 
Most popular in the WORLD is the SW revolver.

Most popular auto in the world is likely the BHP, so many countries armed forces use it or a close-copy of it.

Only us rugged, steely eyed no-nonsense 'Mericans have any use for a pistol that throws a .45 caliber slug.
 
S&W revolver!

I have to admit, I've been considering picking up a 1911 in the near future. There's just something about the classic lines that appeals, kind of like a good single action revolver, they just look "right".
 
I'm going with the Smith & Wesson revolver. It is said that millions of Model 10s alone were manufactured. Add the J-frames and all those other K- L- and N-frames and I suppose that tops every other type in this poll.

Even with Glock counted, they are a fairly recent phenomenon and I doubt their millions would top the Smith Revolvers.

Just my unsupported opinion....

If I could have only one gun it will always be my Les Baer Premier II 5" .45 ACP, so it's quite clear what I've voted for.

My second choice is my M629 Classic DX 6.5" .44 Mag. cal., though.

I'd have to say the 1911! It served the milatary around the globe for 75 years, has been copied and duplicated by almost all gun makers in one form or another. The design itself is responsible for many of the auto designs we see and buy today. Next would be the the 38/357 revolver of one form/brand or another!

The list is lacking at least a couple obvious options.

But of the ones listed, S&W revolvers and the 1911 are for sure the most popular there.
 
From the list I voted 1911, but for sure Glock is most popular if you consider the global market as well.

Though the poll choices are a bit, ummm......eclectic?..........the thread still has relevance.
 
Back in my day the S&W revolver was the king. Once the auto loaders became more reliable (auto loaders other than the 1911 & Hi-Power) ,the revolvers started to loose ground to auto's.

I voted the 1911 ,but to be honest I think that came about in the last 20 years.
