I shot one yesterday, in fact. I fell in love with it, and think it's a great value in carry pistol. Soft recoil with standard ammo. Very accurate, and never hiccupped.
It feels good in the hand, is well balanced, and an excellent size. I'm a long-time fan of the S&W Shield 9, but would trade mine for a G42 pretty quickly. I think it's hands down superior to KelTek P3AT, Ruger LCP, and Taurus TCP, but it does cost a bit more. I've seen them for $389 at gun shows, so I expect to find one fairly soon for $350-360.
I've seen a comment or two on line, concerning failure to feed, and like lots of new inexpensive pistols, I think some of them might need a bit of polishing, or "break in" period. But most seem to run very well, and are a super value.
