What's this Headstamp? (dang thing broke my decapper)

*grumbles* Is it boxer or berdan? If its its boxer then damn, the crimp has be a tough one to break the decapper.

Can't tell from the photo, but regarding Boxer oor Berdan, look inside the case--probably need light assist. If there is one hole in the center, it's Boxer; if two holes (obviously not in the center), it is Berdan.

That is military ammo made by PMC under contract to Abu Dhabi, one of the United Arab Emirates. I've encountered both 9mm and 5.56mm. The specifications in the contract called for TIGHT crimp on the primer. You can deprime them and ream the heck out of the pocket to insert a new primer, but you may wreck a few tools along the way. In my humble opinion, it's not worth it.

They aren't that common. You can recycle the brass or discard it.

I think it's ADCOM M855 made in the AUE. Sportsmansguide had it real cheap a couple of years ago - bought 5000 - and Gander had a few boxes on the shelf around here.

Shoots hot, boxer primed. Frequently get mild signs of pressure (ejector marks on the case head). Pretty healthy crimp, but I can push a CCI41 through it with the Lee hand primer without swaging. Occasionaly it'll blow out a primer but that's 2 in maybe 2000 rounds. And I think that 99 was a bad run of the stuff.

The brass isn't all the great for reloading in my opinion as the primer pockets get loose quickly or even after first firing. That said, I reload a ton of it!

ETA take a look down in the case, I'd bet the flash hole is off center. Fairly common to ADCOM and I have the exact same thing happen about two weeks ago.

ETA again... I've had the primers sort or bow out under pressure of the decapping pin and not ever pop loose. Gums up the works in the progressive - can't do crap until the primer drops. Not so much of a big deal on the singlestage - just punch it out with something after removing the die.

Ditto - It's ADCOM M855. I bought about 300 rounds last year when I found some for cheap, before I knew what it was. Ended up culling out maybe 20 - 30 rounds with crumpled case necks & other beauty marks ( stuff so bad there's no way it would chamber) while inspecting them.

I've been putting this stuff in the scrap can because I've got enough good surplus brass that I don't want to mess with it.

There's a long thread on ARFCOM regarding which lots of this stuff folks had probelms with...

There are two AD headstamps listed. Your cartridge is the second one (the Javaneze company never made 5.56mm). Mast Technologies is out of business now (it was associated with Bell Brass Extrusion at one time or another). In addition to contract ammo, they were excellent at developing new cartridges for firearms manufacturers.

Hmph. I guess I'll ditch it.. Not worth breaking any more pins with them then. Only have about 6 so far. I'm processing a vat of 3,500 brass...

yes , others are right it is adcom, they are famous for not putting the hole in the center , usually off a bit to one side, most are fine, but you have to ask your self if it is worth it to break a few pins. I have sized a bunch, hornady dies if the sizing ball is kept loose you are ok on the adcom. it lets the pin move and find the hole if its off a little. it can be done good luck

You might try a Lee decapping die. It is very inexpensive (less than $10). When I ordered mine, I ordered extra pins with it. After seeing the thing in action, though, I doubt that it will ever break a pin. The pin looks like a tree trunk, compared to other decapping pins. It is set in a collet, so when too much pressure is applied the pin just retracts rather than breaking.

Sounds like it would be perfect for your application.

If that is too much trouble and you are going to trash the brass, just send it my way ...

Infant -- In fact my pins were lee pins.. I don't know what happened, it just snapped right at the base.... ! dunno.. I guess I'll be ordering a couple of extras.
