I am considering a new small gun for concealed. Just curious what some of you carry for a concealed carry weapon and why? Got any pic's of holster options for a small handgun. Thanks for the info and suggestions.

In no specific order:

Bersa Thunder 380

XD45 Service

Colt Lightweight Commander

XD45 Tactical

Which one depends on weather, destination, coin toss, Ouija board results etc.

Gov't Model in 5" trim. Because I shoot it better than enything else and the manual of arms is second nature. And because it's a .45acp. (flame retardant underwear on.)

ccw guns

carry all of the following at one time or another.

kel tec p-11 in fobus paddle holster owb. used with scrubs swim suit etc clothing
bursa thunder 9mm in jbc leather with fbi cant. this is my favorite gun but just a little heavy sometimes.
taurus pt111 millineum pro 9mm stainless. fobus paddle or bianchi leather with thumb break. this is the most often carried gun. wear it open some times living in virginia just to remind myself that we dont have to hide them, we just choose to most of the time.

wife carries a bursa .380 cc model in leather or fobus paddle.

ccw carry

I either carry a H&K USP Compact .40 in a leather owb Gould and Goolrich or a Glock 22 in a Herold Holster "backwoods confidence" leather / kydex hybrid.

Alot of people are talking about the XD subcompacts but never slung lead thru one though.......

Colt Dick Special most of the time. Easy to hide. For deep concealment, Colt Mustang 380.

I have a Glock 23 thats used to be my primary, and still bets carries occasionaly, but as a consultant I have to be careful around clients. Not everone appreciates a fine handgun. My two choiced hide well, and it is better to always have some gun, rather than have the perfect gun at home in the safe.

I'm also not in a particularly high crime area. One murder last year, with the assailant caught the same day.

Kimber 5"..Ross Leather Stingray and soon an Andrews Leather McDaniels II

PT-145 in either a Donner Gunleather (for Glock 23, Fits great) or Jit Slide

I shoot my Kimber much better by far so I prefer to carry it but sometimes the situation calls for me to carry something a little smaller so I will carry the PT-145.
But they are BOTH 45acp

Hrm. It varies a little.

My always-carry / pocket gun is an NAA Mini Revolver in .22 Magnum (carried in pocket with no holster):

My Makarov usually ends up being my main carry, as it is reliable and fairly easy to conceal (carried IWB using a Don Hume SOOT):

When colder weather comes around or I am wearing attire which can conceal it such as a loose button-down shirt, I will carry the USP (using an Uncle Mike's neoprene IWB at the moment, ordered a Comp-Tac night before last):

Colt CCO:

It is aluminum framed, so it's quite light, and it is flat and thin for comfortable carry IWB (I use a Kydex holster). I replaced the stock rosewood grips with thin, smooth Alumagrips.

Most of the time I have my KT P3AT in my pocket, but, I also carry:

Taurus PT140 or PT145 IWB
Ruger Security-Six 2.75" bbl IWB
S&W M66-2 4"bbl in OWB
Bersa T9FS w/extra 17rd mag. IWB
Haven't carried my '81 Colt Python 6", just too good looking of a gun to mess up with holster wear.

When I lived in a free state

I carried, in no order:

HK USP45f
S&W 1911PD scandium commander
Colt Gov't 380

Now I am behind enemy lines and can only carry a pocket knife:mad:

I had a Ruger security six 357 it is a great gun, wife shot it at the range once and now some how that has become her gun.

IMO the best pistol to have with you in a crisis it the one you can actually have WITH you..

For me the Seecamp LWS32 does the trick.

YMMV

There's a CZ RAMI in .40S&W sitting in a KD Holster's tuckable IWB dealy on my hip right now. I was wearing a Glock 23 in a tuckable from HBE Leatherworks earlier but it started to get uncomfortable, poking me in the buttox with the longer barrel while I was sitting.

Working from home is kinda nice. :D

The really funny thing: Wasn't more than a few weeks ago that I said I had a strong dislike of the .40S&W. I'm an awfully fickle bugger I guess.

You have fantastic taste...

And the same holster fits my P99/AS too..

I CCW a S&W 642 with CTs every day to work in a Desantis Apache ankle holster (no pics of the holsters - sorry)

My others are all Sigs depending on time of year. I carry the P239 SAS 9mm in a Smart Carry or OWB in an Alessi holster. I carry the P229 in a Galco CON250H. I'm waiting for a holster for my P220 Carry SAS.

The smallest I carry is a Stoeger Cougar. The others are Springfield 1911 5" Mil-Spec and a M&P full size. I haven't held a compact that felt comfortable to me.
