what do you like to carry concealed? revolver auto? What caliber? Why?
just asking because my next purchase may be a CCW firearm and im thinking about a few options and just wanna know what you like

S&W 642
Speer 135gr. +p
Nemesis Pocket holster

Light, doesn't "print" as badly as most (blockier) sub-compact semi-autos, 5x .38 spec (+ 5 more in a SL) is fine by me.

I carry a M&P .45 ACP from Smith and Wesson. It is the one gun that was slightly less costly than a 1911 Colt Combat Commander at the time. Both guns were good in my hand, racked easily etc etc...

But ultimately the .45 has nothing on it except a slide lock. Basically idiot proof if you please for me. I can do shotguns all day with thier safeties etc.

Just my gun that I chose as a first gun. I am aware that there is a bit of conflict with Glock in the past and other things. But 500 rounds of 230 grains and counting and no failures yet except I was new and didnt know better.

One word of warning, Get your grip down low. That slide will bite you on the recoil. Dont ask how I know.

S&W Model 59 from the '70s.

I been in law enforcement for thirty years and have carried many pistols for off duty. I purchased a 380 Kel tec about 5 years ago and found with a pocket clip, extended magazine, and hydrashock or corbon ammo I am more likely to carry it all the time. The weapon you are most likely to carry all the time is the best choice.

Today? I'm carrying my Kahr P45 in a UBG IWB holster, in a pair of shorts, no belt. I'd rather be carrying my Kimber Ultra CDP, but the Kahr weighs 18 oz vice the Kimber's 24 oz. (Note: with a belt, I can do the Kimber)

During the heat of summer? I'll probably revert to my Kahr PM9. Fourteen ounces and 6+1 of 9mm +p+ is hard to beat.

When winter returns? I love my N-frames, when I can conceal them. Require a real belt, and a cover garment (sweatshirt/jacket).

Bottom line...there is no one answer. Lots of variables, lots of choices. Of course, you could carry an LCP/P3AT year round (some do). If you live in Miami I guess that might be the answer.

Most of us live where the weather changes, and carry accordingly.

S&W 442 in a Blackhawk size 3 pocket holster. I have a Desantis Nemesis too but it makes my leg sweat.

Either my 1006 or my 1066, depending whether I am working that day. If headed into the woods than my 629 or 610.

I carry a Glock 22 strong side IWB and an SP101 BUG on my left ankle. I like the 16 rounds of .40sw from the Glock combined with its unsurpassed reliability. 5 extra rounds of .357 mag from the BUG in case something happened to the Glock.

i carry my Ruger SP101 2 1/4 in barrel, 3 o'clock IWB. I like the certainty of a revolver going bang as well as the way the grips fit in my hand. As far as ammo i load it with what ever i can get my hands on....

I carry a Taurus 605ss most of the time. Winter when wearing a coat, I'll carry a Smith & Wesson 65 with the Taurus as a back up. Revolvers work for me.

Right now I carry either a 2 1/2" k frame 357 in the appendix position with a cheap Uncle Mikes IWB hoster, or a 442 pocket carry with the DeSantis Nemesis. Sometimes I carry both with the pocket holster in the weak hand position.

I like the simple reliabilty of revolvers. I also carry a speed strip for a reload. I know speed strips are slower than speed loaders, but they sure pocket carry better. I do practice reloading with the strips too.

#1. Rock Island Armory Compact 1911, .45auto, 3.5" barrel, on belt in IWB holster.

#2. S&W Model 49 revolver, 5-shot .38 special. In r. front pocket in a DeSantis Nemesis holster.

.45 is my fave, but the .38 is more comfortable and practical, goes with me everywhere.

My favorite is the Sig P232, for ease and comfort reasons, but I carry more often the HK P2000sk, possibly the best CCW made today, IMHO.

you guys that are carrying the s&w 1006 all I can say is WOW. Great gun, but I carry it as a duty weapon in a safarialnd holster on my duty belt, and its heavy carried that way!

I applaud you, thats dedication.

For me its a Ruger LCP for light clothing, and a Glock 29 for everything else

Currently it's a dead reliable xd40sc but as time goes by I've been seriously considering a high quality pocket sized 9mm because I'm more likely to carry it all the time.

I've carried a Walther PPK/S in .380 for a long time now. It's 100% reliable, I can tear it down and put it back together in the dark, and it's as accurate in my hand as anything I ever take to the range, just because I've worked with it for so long. I wouldn't think of leaving home without it.

I carry a HK P2K in 357 Sig as my daily carry, supplemented by a Glock 32 in the same caliber.
