VZ is hard to beat. Reasonably priced for the quality and several colors and a couple styles to choose from.
They're cheap, but Ajax grips are sometimes the ticket on a work gun. They look decent, last a long time and don't break the bank.
Personally, I have never, at all, ever, been a fan of the Hogue or Pachmayr grips. They change the shape of the handgun grip, the way it fits the hand. The 1911 fits my hands very well as-is, so fooling with that is nonsense.
If it doesn't fit your hand, the options are to buy grips that change the fit or buy a handgun that actually fits your hands.
