I'm going to be transitioning out of my Ruger SR9c, I think, but that had kind of been my EDC. Excellent gun, and I'm going to keep it, but I'm thinking revolver. I'm going to look for a used S&W Model 64 with a TWO inch bbl. (and round grip, if such a thing exists.)

Anyway, what's with the "MR." Colion Noir all the time?? Is that like his first name, or something?

I actually stopped carrying my BHP MKIII for 2 reasons, and neither of them for price. 1) I realized I would have issues replacing it if it was lost/confiscated right now, so until I find a spare it gets to be a range queen and MOSTLY 2) I shoot .45, and specifically 1911's better.

So I carry a Commander length 1911 daily.

I tried the smaller types while deciding on what to CCW (Ruger SR9c, Springer XD, LCP, etc) but I've found the bigger guns carry well with my dress and I shoot em better. And if I'm not at work or at a banned location, I'm carrying.

Mine is what I've said for over 10 years now, a Kimber Ultra CDP. It cost me $950 back then and has been worth it ever since. I also carry a KT P32 BUG.

I don't read this forum as often as I once did, but I'm surprised to see that standards here have sunk to the point where a guy can say outright that he carries extra rounds because he expects to have to shoot a "whole pack" of black people. That said, I was surprised to see that "race" isn't listed under the "Everyone is welcome to participate, regardless of" section in the rules. In keeping with what I thought the spirit of this forum was I'll just say that I don't much care for the content of that post.

Anyway, I carry a Glock 19 almost all the time. Exceptions include ridiculously hot days and while working out. It's neither large nor expensive, but it suits me just fine.

You'll see racism where you want to. Reckon he could of been a bit more eloquent, but I believe I get his drift.
There is no denying that there are packs of ferals out attacking folks. The ethnicity of those involved can be gleaned quite readily on the internet.

Actually whether folks really carrry the extremely pointy guns IWB under a shirt, or they JUST SAY they carry them is the real issue. Most folks who are in shape like myself 6' 195lbs, have a wedge shape to their upper body. Body gets wider from the waist up.. A non pointy gun like a glock or other hammerless or non C&L designs will work fine and not Poke the wearer in an IWB. Big hammer and beaver tail guns work great in an outside the waistband holster but IWB all day, seated driiving etc. NOT LIKELY.

I've carried 3"-5" 1911's in Milt Sparks SS/SS2 and VM II holsters, over many decades. Never had a problem with hammer or grip safety digging into my side.

I live where its hot most of the year so I pocket carry a J Frame S&W. Usually either a 642 or a 638. Since I retired and no longer have to conceal a full sized weapon, I don't.

Interestingly, too, I tried all of them in pancake IWB and 'smart carry' holsters. Which are kinda expensive. Both are in my dresser drawer. :banghead: Using a $15 Uncle Mikes IWB, I hardly notice the heavier ones, and, it is the most comfortable IWB I've tried so far.

Colt 3rd gen Detective Special (the one with the ejector rod shroud) & Speer Short Barrel Gold Dots (not for practice, for that 148 gr wadcutters). For my purposes, hard to do better than that.

I guess that qualifies for "mid-range" blue collar budgeting, but not for much longer with Colt DA inflation. Never well heeled enough to be a "collector" and I consider it to be the best .38 spl. snubby to use.

Generally it is a CA .44 Bulldog. If it is intolerably hot and I am not wearing much clothing, it is a Seecamp .32.

My "everyday" carry is usually a Glock 26, occasionally a S&W J-Frame Model 60.

It's funny that you brought this topic up, cause the other day I was standing in line behind this fellow that was wearing. Out of the blue, he turned around and started boasting about the $2,800 1911 on his hip. He obviously noticed I was carrying, and saw the opportunity to show off I guess? I didn't really say much back to him, nice gun, that was about it.

Unless they are a collector that shouldn't be used, I have never thought of them as something to be considered as rare gems or precious metals, they're guns, and they are meant to be used as such.

Mine range from $200-ish to no more than $800-ish, and all get carried and shot without consideration for normal wear and tear.

Ruger SR9c, S&W 638

I shoot the Ruger a little better, but it's heavier. The 638 shoots remarkably well for it's size. I have a Taurus 85 that goes on road trips as a trunk gun when we're in hostile territory.
