I own a six inch bbl. Colt Python I purchased new in 1981 for 385.00 which seemed like an awful lot of money at the time. I have the original box and hang tags. The guy who sold it to me recently offered me 390.00 for it.. Ha!

Learned to shoot on an 8mm CZ-24 Mauser. Still have it, still love it, but don't shoot it much anymore. I would buy another one, and someday will. There's just something about that smooth mauser action and an old milsurp that's been around for a war or two.

Hockeybum: Lots of pre-Gun Control Act of 1968 (GCA68) .22s didn't have serial numbers. Not required back then.
Yup. Not just .22's either (although I dont think you meant that literally, just califying for others who may not know). I have a Savage 340 from the early 60's or so with no serial ANYWHERE. Had to come up with my own (hidden)marking method for insururance/police report purposes in case some scumbag ever stole it (and he managed to not get shot by me or the wife in the process ;), as 1 of us is home 24/7, 99.9% of the time since she doesnt work, and I work nights only 3-4 days a week)

It's a slow Monday, so here's a couple of questions:

First, what gun have you had longest, and;

Second, would you buy that gun if you had the chance to do it over?
1. 2nd generation Glock Model 22
2. No. I would have paid the extra money for the H&K P-7M8 I was thinking about getting instead of the Glock. Since, the H&K has risen in value about 2.5 times more than what I would have paid for it back then.

the first gun i ever bought was a sheridan .20 cal blue streak. i cant even imagine how many thousands of rounds went through that gun. i sold it when it pretty much became unsafe. and yes, i did just (6 months ago) replace it.

6" blue Security Six. Still have it, still use it, still love Ruger revolvers and wish they still made the Six series.

Paid $175 for it in the late 80s.

I still have my henry lever action 22. Its been going strong since I was 14. As it is tough to buy guns at 14, I can't say I would buy it again, but if it got stolen I would definitely buy another one.

"First, what gun have you had longest,"

A Smith and Wesson .357 revolver with letter.

"Second, would you buy that gun if you had the chance to do it over?

Inherited this gun when my uncle was killed in a logging accident in the early 1950s. I could not afford one.

(1) 8 mm Czech mauser

(2) No I would not buy it again. It was a poor choice for my first rifle. Should've gotten a .22, and after that I wish I had purchased an M1 Garand when they were less expensive.

All of my guns were stolen in a burglary in 1999. I bought a Russian SKS two days later for $110. I would definitely do it again if I could find another for that price.

My first handgun was and still is a 6" Colt Python. Would I do it all over again? Absolutely, I love my Colts. Since then I have added a 4" Python to my list of firearms. Come to think of it the Python is the only handgun model I have two of.

Senior gun in my house is my COLT Enhanced Officers .45 ACP. S/S. I bought it new in '93 when they first came out. Yes I would buy it again ! I love that gun ! Oldest gun would be my COLT MODEL .357 made in '54 1st yr. of production. :)

My senior is my father's old Walther P-38. It was brought back from Germany after being taken from a dead SS officer during the liberation of the camps.

I inherited it when I was thirteen, and I've had it almost forty years now. Still shoots like a champ.
