Wheeler sight pusher

Mainly useful if you are installing night sights or like to play around with different sights---tritium vials can fracture using a punch and hammer technique. There are several THR threads regarding pros and cons of installing sights with punches (cheap and readily available tools) versus sight pushers which are expensive and either specifically designed for one make of pistol or the universal types one size fits all which may not work very well on some pistols. Several other makes to compare can be found on Brownell's website. They call them sight movers and here is a weblink to compare them. http://www.brownells.com/gunsmith-t...ope-installation-tools/sight-movers/index.htm Specifically, I have heard good things about the MGW models for what it is worth but never used one myself. I am sure that Midway has some comparable models as well.

Not for $170. Even if you buy a new pistol every day, it'll take eons to pay for itself.
"...installing sights with punches..." Works every time but isn't exactly precise. Been working on a design for a home made pusher for a while. Haven't tried very hard though. I'm thinking square tubing, an eye bolt and a bit of leather.

Definitely worth the price; even if you only do one or two pistols. After "gunsmiths" damaged my sights & slides with their hammers & punches, I bought a sight tool & installed & adjusted night sights on six of my guns without leaving a mark. And I have NO mechanical ability. Thanks for showing that tool; none of mine will do all pistols.
I have Wheeler's screwdriver set & I can say they make great tools.

Thanks for the input. I got a Glock-specific pusher years ago and have used it on, well, all my Glocks. As I collect more pistols, most of which come with non-glowy sights, If I want to put them into an actual defense role, as opposed to collector role, then I'd like them to have night sights. I'll probably get this one in a month or so, when I'm ready to replace the dead front sight on one of my SIGs.
