Crazy ain't it.I do have five AKs, two SKS and over 13,000 rds. of ammo for them, in case of future import tariffs/bans/panics, but health insurance will Not let us store up extra prescription bottles which would (then) keep us alive.
When you have all it it.....
I have maintained a good supply on hand because of the shortages that have occurred over in the last 10 years or so. I was caught once pretty low in supply, and it has not happened again. I'm not particularly concerned about a "stand off" or any kind of "military action". The dominant ammo I maintain a supply of is 22LR and have a sufficient amount on hand for the rest of my life as long as I'm not real picky on the brand. Could use some more higher grade target ammo.I just counted my supply of ammo and the totals seem sufficient to me. 4400 rounds of .223, 1600 rds 9mm.. Mostly plinking ammo, IE, FMJ. I am mostly a rifle shooter, don't care much for pistols (Quigley Down Under?). What does the hive mind consider to be a good supply of HP ammo to have on hand? I'm thinking 200 to 300 rounds of each. Kind of bragging on on my stash of ammo.but, am genuinely concerned as to what is a sufficient supply of each. Not peparing for war nut, would like to have a sufficient supply for a standoff.
You have more then 30,000 rounds?I may have gone off the deep end....was always concerned that future ammo might be used as a revenue stream for money hungry politicians looking to tax per round. Can't tell you how much rimfire I've got or some would accuse me of being responsible for the 4+ years of empty shelves.
that right there is what I consider a good reason to have a bit stashed away, If I understand correct those poor folks in california will now need a ffl, background check and fingerprints to buy ammo as of the 1st of the year with addendum's to add reloading components to the list soon.whenever lamenting the political situation,
I think 200-300 is pretty good for a HP supply. Every so often, I want to be able to shoot off what's in my gun & spare mag and will need enough to replace. Obviously, my gun and spare mag don't hold 200+ rounds, but I don't want to have to run buy more ammo every time I shoot off what's in the gun. What does the hive mind consider to be a good supply of HP ammo to have on hand? I'm thinking 200 to 300 rounds of each.

It’s America. We are free to spend our money on whatever we want. When the ammo shortage hit, I had just over 30,000 rounds of 22LR. I helped out a lot of friends when the price got up to $80 & $90 for a five hundred bulk pack. I sold them bulk packs for $30 & $40, and even gave some away. I’m back up to 10,000 rounds but need to buy more. You're not even close....
