They may not do it if they feel it will detract from the 19,26, 17, and 42. Their market research has to show that it won't kick them in the butt, and take away market share in their principle philosophy of having a lightweight hi capacity pistol. The 380 I can understand as a back up or for women or men who are older or have arthritis in their hands, but I believe that too many 9mm' choices, are already out there and Glock may interfere with it's own profit margins by competing with it's own products. I thing the next gun has to be really innovative, The 41, for instance really didn't make a splash at all.
Honestlly my 26 is a pretty small light gun and manages to only get 10+1 rounds, "stock" in there. Is an 8 round glock really going to sell?
It would kill the market for the 26? I get 12+1 in mine which is a nice amount.
Don't forget the slide will still be almost the same size, maybe 1/4 inch off the grip? If I have to put a grip sleeve on it because it's so thin it hurts to shoot, then you are back to a 26 width again.
My hands are large so even an XDS is thin to me. I leave it that way because it conceals well but in all honesty, if I were going to put a few hundred rounds through it, I would fatten it up.
I guess we will see what they do next.
Personally I don't need yet another 9mm pistol in single stack. I like a little meat on my grip, like the Walther or P30 size only in single like their new CCP, I find even the shield too thin for my taste. But I am sure they will sell, just how much they take away from the others is the question.
