When do you think glock will release their single stack 9mm

Why create a 9mm when you know that many people will buy the .380 and eventually the 9mm if you market the .380 first and say nothing about an eventual 9mm? Glock is in business to make money not guns and selling two pistols instead of only one makes them more money. As soon as the 9mm arrives my G42 goes into reserve and my PF-9 becomes a safe queen. That ole' Gaston sure is a clever fellow!

I totally agree because I posted this response 3 months ago at another forum.

Stop buying the G42 people and a single stack 9mm will be out sooner.

'Glock should hire me for their marketing. How about a full-page magazine ad:

"Meet the Family

Papa Glock (G20 pictured) Mama Glock (G19 pictured)
Big Baby (G26 pictured) Lil' Baby (G9?) and Bitty Baby (G42).

Glock Perfection!"'

I still think this is good marketing. :uhoh:

They may not do it if they feel it will detract from the 19,26, 17, and 42. Their market research has to show that it won't kick them in the butt, and take away market share in their principle philosophy of having a lightweight hi capacity pistol. The 380 I can understand as a back up or for women or men who are older or have arthritis in their hands, but I believe that too many 9mm' choices, are already out there and Glock may interfere with it's own profit margins by competing with it's own products. I thing the next gun has to be really innovative, The 41, for instance really didn't make a splash at all.
Honestlly my 26 is a pretty small light gun and manages to only get 10+1 rounds, "stock" in there. Is an 8 round glock really going to sell?
It would kill the market for the 26? I get 12+1 in mine which is a nice amount.
Don't forget the slide will still be almost the same size, maybe 1/4 inch off the grip? If I have to put a grip sleeve on it because it's so thin it hurts to shoot, then you are back to a 26 width again.
My hands are large so even an XDS is thin to me. I leave it that way because it conceals well but in all honesty, if I were going to put a few hundred rounds through it, I would fatten it up.
I guess we will see what they do next.
Personally I don't need yet another 9mm pistol in single stack. I like a little meat on my grip, like the Walther or P30 size only in single like their new CCP, I find even the shield too thin for my taste. But I am sure they will sell, just how much they take away from the others is the question.

The thing about Glocks is that Gaston knows best. The eight zillion people lining up saying "We want to pay our money" for a G42-sized 9mm are all wrong. They don't know what they want. Gaston knows what they want, and it's a .380.

I highly doubt that is correct. The gun needs to be a commercial success and 9mm is not permitted for civilian use in some countries. Releasing a 9mm would have torpedoed the Model 42's sales. It could also be they needed more time to get the 9mm version working and the 380 version worked then.

My guess is Glock will announce the "43" at SHOT.

Who needs 16 capacith 9mm pistol?

The problem with predictions? Well for one, is has to do with how many rounds you will need in your next gun fight?

YOU DO NOT KNOW?

That's why you carry 16 ready to go! And not 7!
