I like guns. Ever since I was a little boy I liked them. I had all kind of guns for my GI Joe's. Now I have a lot of guns for myself.
Now I really like the AR platform and they are so much fun to build. But when is enough. enough? Here is a pic of the ones I have right now minus my Olympic Arms carbine that my nephew has at his house.

I still have 7 stripped lowers and 3 complete lowers boxed up in my shop for future builds.

Building them is fun, but after downsizing a few years ago, I am currently limiting myself to two ARs. One for medium range (out to 300 yards) and one for close ( up to 100). When I build the next one, one's going to have to go.

It kinda came to a head when I realized that despite my bi weekly range trips, I had some Firearms that I hadn't fired in over a year.

Anything longer, I'll go to my .308 Savage BVSS, but really, I only go to 500 about once a year- it's just too far to walk for fun.

Do you have trails through your house between the AR's you have piled up? Do you constantly think about AR's and have near orgasms when you caress them? Would you allow one of your Marines to clutter up the barracks with his AR collection? Gunny, I think an intervention is called for. You have to divest yourself of these rifles and admit to your addiction. Send me your address and I will remove these temptations so that you can be more receptive to psychological counseling to rid yourself of this destructive behavior.

Well let's see Gunny, you've got eleven showing in the photo and one with your nephew makes an even dozen. That's an AR for every month of the year. That has a certain symmetry to it. Plus if you get bored you've always got another ten lowers to play with. Maybe this this time enough is enough.

My collection has ebbed and flowed over the years. Every now and again, and I am going through one now, I aggressively review the line up and dump the stuff I no longer am interested in to clear space (physically and mentally). Rinse and repeat. IMHO, no need to overthink it. Life is way too short to get huffy about the minutiae.

I have the cure for you.
Repeat with me I don't need any more AR15's, I only need AR10's or just cancel your ar15.com subscription.
BTW, Nice line up Gunny.

Only a marine is brave enough to show how many AR's he has. I would be afraid to put mine all in one place and photograph them. That would some how be admitting that I have a problem. If they are scattered throughout various places/vehicles/safes and in unassembled pieces I never have to deal with how many there really may be.

I say you go to your nephew's house ASAP and collect that straggler, lest you run low....;)
Great collection- George D may be right- that lady from the Intervention show is coming up your driveway.

It's Barbie for men. Ask how many dolls girls need ... It will come down as time passes. It's a phase. You build them because they are a little different and act/shoot differently. But, eventually you'll settle a a few favs and the rest will go ...

OK. There is some good advice here.
Yes, I do have an addiction to guns. I also own more then 60 Mausers. And I divorced my wife a few years ago to make room for more guns.
All three of my kids each have their own AR. Here they are added to the pic.

I also have a black Dissipator that is boxed up. I forgot to take it out for the pic.
I have given some thought to building an AR10. I have a set of 2A Armament titanium take down pins for an AR10. That should be a good enough reason to build one. Right?
I have built two pistols, but don't really care for them.
I like the way Ks5shooter thinks.
Oh! I just remember that I also have a Hellbreaker lower. I see a Flying Tiger build in the future.

Nice collection GunnyUSMC! :ninja:

Part of me wishes I could do that. I have two carbines that get shot the most, and I have other AR15s that I haven't shot in more than 5 years or so. But I can't bring myself to part with them.

I want all the variations, since that's what makes the AR15 so cool. 22LR, 9mm, 7.62x39, .223 pistol, military style clones, light weight carbine, lightweight rifle, heavy, free floated long range rifle, etc, etc. You need to collect the whole set. :D

My problem is I need to buy more lowers since I have three or four uppers that I swap around.

I don't see any SBR, or bull barrel "varmint" variations. Presumably some of them are piston uppers. Don't see any pistols. What about alternate calibers like 7.62x39, .22lr etc.
Its a start.
:)

With the current great prices I've built a few that will be Xmas and birthday gifts.

Interesting that none of your rifles have a forward grip, but 2 out of 3 of the kids do.

Those lowers you've got ain't going to build themselves, you need to sell some of your current stock so you can build some more.

That's actually a modest collection compared to my letter carrier; the dude has two huge safes dedicated to just AR15s. You've some collecting to do sir :p
