When is this room going to do another Surplus rifle shoot off?

Is there anybody who wants to do a surplus rifle shoot off?? Im talking Mauser vs. 1903 vs. Mosin Nagant, vs K31 etc...... Military open sights no national match M1a's shooting LC match.. 100 yard NRA target or paper plate???

Scope?
Ammo type?
Does the rifle need to be 100% stock?
What if you've "glass bedded" it?

Next time out to the range I'm hoping to have some new surplus groups. Lee Enfiled, Mosin Nagants (including an ex sniper) and K98. We'll see.

I would like to keep rules simple. 100 yards milatary open sights no scope or micrometer target peeps. Commercial or surplus ammo. No m1A's! We could make official target a paper plate. Best 5 shot group

M1903, M1917, K98, K31, M1, M1 Carbine and so on, or just one trophy?

I could arrange a trophy. It may be a piece of steel plate with bullet holes in it. welded to a flat base of the same steel. I could have it engraved or dremel in THR super duper surplus rifle 2009 champion

I'm not doing any more of them till people actually start backing up what they commit to. In the past 3 shoots I conducted only 1 actually had any participants. And in that case 90% of the submissions were from 1 shooter.

Your average THR member likes to talk up his firearms accuracy and shooting prowess but when it comes time to show others his handiwork he likes to keep things on the down low. I'm sure if I let participants submit their luckiest 3 shot target they shot 2 years ago there would have been tons of submissions. But I required submissions 5 shots to be on a certain background thus forcing shooters to actually go out and try to shoot a good group for the purposes of the match.

If you like BornAgain you're more than welcome to use my template or any combination of the rules from my match but this one will be your baby. I'll shoot in it if I have a rifle that qualifies.

Only problem with this is it is so cold in a lot of places, even here in KY, it is dropping to -2! I would love to borrow my freinds MN on a warm day though.

Yeah, I'd give it a try too. As long as ammo restrictions don't lock me out. I don't have any significant amout of surplus ammo.
