When shipping guns USPS, will using registered mail help against theft?

I've always used USPS Priority mail with insurance to ship rifles to transfer dealers out of state. I was wondering if sending the package registered mail was a worthwhile extra measure of security. (??) Rather then have to try and collect insurance in the event of theft, I much prefer to do everything I can to send it the safest way I can and try to avoid the theft in the first place. Does registering the package help?
