Resurrecting this thread because I got an Email special from Widener's, they have BE-86 on sale 8lbs for $125 + Hazmat.

I've no affiliation with Widener's other than as a satisfied customer, since I don't need to order powder at present I though others interested in this thread might want to know about it.

Nice to see powder "on sale" again!

Powder Valley posted this on facebook

2017 Price Increases: We are receiving pricing information from several manufacturers. If you're looking to purchase components and ammunition. Below are anticipated price increase for 2017 by manufacturer. We will add manufacturers as we have more information.
Hodgdon 4-10%
IMR 3-5%
Winchester Powder 3-5%
Vihtavuori 2-3%
Accurate 1-2%
Ramshot 4-6%
Norma 3%
Alliant 5%

Buy before the price goes up.

Not unusual this time of year and not the first time they have done this, but always good to get a heads up from them.

Powder Valley is one of them that have kept their pricing steady, only increasing at normal inflationary rates.

Thanks for the heads up Jesse!

I've found Bruno Shooting Supply in Phoenix to be a reliable and economic source for bullets and brass. They don't gouge for shipping either, often using USPS Priority Mail at flat rates not dependent on weight. Good deal all-around :)

Thanks fellas! And Wally i talked to Chad (wiedners) to ask about shipping/hazmat or even a break for members of thr. We talked for a good bit nice fella! said they had a dept. that takes care of discounts/shipping etc.. . I mentioned a lot of good folks on here. Anyhow 4lbr/W231 and a 8lbr. be/86. Thanks again maybe his staff in that dept. can help us?

Bridge1821, welcome to THR.

During the last two component shortages, there were vendors who price gouged and many of us remember well which vendors raised prices and which vendors kept the prices reasonable or did not raise at all - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/price-gouging-who-is-who-is-not.711346/

IIRC, the vendors who kept prices reasonable were Powder Valley, Missouri Bullet Company, Dardas Bullets, MasterCast, Rocky Mountain Reloading, TJConevera, Recob's Target Shop, Third Generation, Widener's, Gamaliel Shooting Supply, Midsouth, Natchez, Scheels Sporting Goods to name a few. MBC/Dardas/RMR not only kept their prices but also continued to offer 5% THR discount which continue until today. The vendors who price gouged, many THR members remember well and I for one will never buy from them.

Yes, the last two component shortages, especially for new reloaders, were particularly difficult times.

It was during these times why the "Where are there reloading components" thread got started which surpassed Gunbot.net in posting reloading components "in stock" hours/days before they were listed as "out of stock" on Gunbot to help THR members/guests obtain needed components. Yes, THR members showed the power of teamwork and value of community during darkest hours for reloading.

It was during these challenging times where we saw the awesome generosity of THR members share valuable reloading components and unobtainiums with fellow members (often with strangers) to be able to pursue the hobby of reloading and shooting through blarby's Pay it Forward thread - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/pay-it-forward-in-reloading.698208/

I lost count of care packages I delivered/shipped to friends/family/neighbors/coworkers and THR members when store shelves were empty with no promise of restock date. It was a great time when I made many new friends all over the country who had the same hobby/passion of reloading but could not find reloading components.

It was this display of awesome generosity of THR members that gave rise to the "Thank you THR PIF" thread - https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/thank-you-thr-pay-it-forward.760272/

During the last two component shortages, it was the finest hour for THR when kind hearts rose up to spread goodwill which will forever define this "High Road" forum.

Sweeney's in Napa Ca has a good supply of powder, Hodgdon and Accurate; primers CCI and Remington; and fair supply of hunting bullets as of 1/12/17 :)

Be careful with American Relaoding. Their shipping takes FOREVER. If you get pulled bullets they are usually pretty trashed too and they mix all the different weights into 1 package. I have bought a bunch of surplus powder from them though with good results.

That mirrors my experience with them. The one time I ordered pulled bullets, I got the 45acp bullets I ordered (230gn plated pulls) but there were different profile bullets in the batch, a few were mangled by the pulling process, and there were a few FMJs in the mix. I had to inspect/weigh every one just for caution - which I expected to do anyway. Overall I was happy with the 45acp batch I ordered. But, the 38/357 158gn pulled bullets I ordered ended up being 125gn instead. They made good on that, though, so their customer service is good. The biggest problem I had was that the entire order took several weeks to arrive. I emailed or called 2 or 3 times, and each time the email or call seemed to bump the order one step further along in the process. I was not impressed at all with their order handling process.
