Tula Ammo Primers

I've never used or seen tula primers. Are they any good?

I have shot quite a bit of Tula, Wolf and PMC primers made in Russia.

Tula LP primer cups are slightly larger than CCI/Winchester and require a bit more effort to seat them. If you have looser primer pocket cases, they'll extend the life of these cases. As to performance, Tula LP/SR/.223/LR primers have been reliable without failure to ignite for me.

Tula SP primer cups are comparable in size but for me still require slightly bit more effort to seat them. Due to my lot # having harder cups, I experienced some failure to ignite issues and some reloaders are still reporting reliability issues with newer lot #'s so I would only recommend them for range practice loads and applications where any failure to ignite won't be a problem - http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=630512&page=2

Tula primers are great. With my Lee Turret, they are no more difficult to seat than any other primer I've used (CCI/Fed/WIN). I read this a bunch before I started using them, and found no evidence of difficult seating AT ALL.... Additionally, they go bang every time, even with my revolvers with lightened hammers and they are cheap. Love 'em...

I have shot this bullet in 9MM with good success. I'm not suggesting you do it, I'm just saying it worked for me in two 9MM handguns. It might be a problem in a tight chambered/barreled gun.

I have had good success with them during this time as well. If they have it, they get it shipped quickly. They are not as well known, or at least they weren't, and probably haven't been as swamped as some places.

I know this may not affect very many people, but if you don't have an acount or create one with UP Ammo- they require a cell number to check out as a guest.

I was trying to avoid creating yet another online account/password and was checking out as a guest to find that out... and I know it's hard for some to believe but there are those of us that don't have a cell phone.
