One note on Recob's stated powder limit. It's 4 - 1lb or 1 - 4/5/8lb PER powder type. I learned this in a phone conversation with them about a recent order. I thought it was a total limit but its not. So you can order 4-1lb cans of unique, 4-1lb cans of Titegroup, 4-1lb cans of Longshot etc. just not 5-1lb cans of any one powder type. Just got confirmation of my order being shipped. It was 7-14 day turn around for order to shipping notice, as stated on their page. Thanks for all the updates here! It's helped alot.

I just ordered some Trail Boss from Recob's and it was a two week turn-around from order to delivery. Very impressed with their service and excellent communication.

Just a heads up: On the recommendation of someone on another forum, I bought 1,000 of these from Bulletheads, for $90 shipped.

They were crap! supposedly .224? very few of them were even .223. Some had Cannelures, some didn't. I actually loaded 40 of them, and I have never had such a crummy target from my very accurate AR15.

The only good thing about the experience was that Bulletheads DID indeed refund my $90 - no questions asked - when I returned them.

Buyer beware!

GilaMonster, thanks for your post.

The recent feedback reports I have checked on several forums have been positive. Perhaps others can chime in with their recent experience to bullet's quality and performance to benefit THR members/guests?

Thanks.

GilaMonster, thanks for your post. You're welcome...and thank you for this thread. Appreciate all the work you put into it!

The recent feedback reports I have checked on several forums have been positive. Mebbe I got a bad batch. But, after a few of the rounds actually fell into the neck of the cartridge as I was loading, I began measuring them. Out of 100+, I found only two or three that actually measured .224. Perhaps others can chime in with their recent experience to bullet's quality and performance to benefit THR members/guests?

For what it's worth, I have had very good luck with Midway's Dogtown Bullets in .224. A little more expensive, but they load and shoot very well!

Bullet Head .223's ???

Before I read to the latest posts I viewed the pics of the BulletHead .223's. They just do not look right and I have handled my share of these things. If they don't pass my eyeball test I'll pass.:barf:

Just received my long awaited (6 months) order for Hornady 140g FTX bullets in .357. I have needed these to reload Critical Defense cases. The bullet length requires trimming cases, so spent cases require the same bullet for reload.

This is the bullet supposedly out of production indefinitely, in all calibers. Cabela's stock may be a sign of a new plant having started up. I recall mention of one in SC.

I took a chance and ordered some. They should arrive in a few days... I'll detail my findings.
