Much thanks to you Bds, you got me started and now I am well stocked thanks to your efforts. Prayers your way concerning your family members. I will await your return. Looking at your list to check, your gift to us was a large one. Perhaps between all of us, your thread will be front and center upon your return. With any luck, (but I doubt it) things will improve so that it isnt necessary, but I dont see that happening during the next years of the current administrations.

I constantly look at Recob's...they never gouged, all product ships from them so only one H-M fee, shipping very reasonable. I will post their extra popular goodies as I see them.

Midway USA has Speer Gold dot 124 grain in 9mm. 20.00 (20 count) I wont be ordering them, put them in the cart and it was 41 bucks with delivery! No, 2 bucks apiece? They can keep them. But if you must have....

Whoops, this is for ammo, not bullets...I have a product notification for the bullets also which they can also keep for that price, but its a little better...if you must have some for your carry/HD piece

Midway's standard shipping charge is $15 and change. It wouldn't matter if you ordered the cheapest clearance item they have. However, if ordering those bullets with a much larger order, all of a sudden the shipping should be considered separately, to be fair. Gold Dots are out for me too, by the way. XTPs are in good supply often enough to be able to buy what I need.

Went to Walmart Monday. The clerk in sporting good said that ammo, including 22 rimfire comes in occasionally but that customers come in at 5 A M and take folding chairs and line up to buy. That is not worth it to me.

Plus, I live in MO where Midway is located so they tag me for tax. If I drive 2 hours I can pick them up, but its going to take more than that to make the drive worthwhile.

There is very little that I can buy locally. If I need something, I watch for it from the various well-known online resources. I have done pretty well with Widener's too, because they will take backorders. Some others like Midway have a notification system.

Is there a good backup powder for 223?

I've been using VihtaVuori N133. It's a bit pricey but it's available at a LSG and keeps me shooting.
