Where are reloading components available (Not a Discussion Thread)

Midsouth has RWS SP .45 brass on sale, I just ordered 500 to check them out. I reloaded my first several hundred rounds of .45 with mixed headstamp SP .45 brass and it worked great.

I have loaded a lot of small primer 45. I think you will notice a slight drop in velocity (~ 30fps) in most cases. I have seen some powders, PB in particular, that will have very noticeable drops in velocity at low charges. In my case I saw as much as 100fps difference between small and large primers. In that case, using a small magnum primer mitigated most of the loss.

In most cases, particularly near the max charge levels, I saw better standard deviations with small primers.

Powder supply improving

Stopped in to my LGS today; fortunately, they just received a big shipment of Hodgdon powder. Picked up a pound each of WIN AutoComp & Titegroup (which I haven't seen for quite a while). They even had VV N-350 on the shelf :uhoh: had to control my impulse to splurge. Anyway, UPS & FedEx deliveries with more goodies while I was there; clerk said that they would be on the shelf soon.

Overall, the powder problem is improving - keep checking your local merchant & let us know what you find :what:

Is anyone familiar with Reloading Unlimited? I had never heard of them and just stumbled onto their website. They indicate that they have 8lb jugs of H335....but at $200+ per jug. About $250 after shipping and hazmat. I only have 2-1/2 lbs left but I hesitate to pay that price.

Edit--Actually $272 after shipping & hazmat!

I was in Dunn's Sporting goods in Peavely, MO over the weekend. They had lots of all primers in stock as well as a full range of rifle powder. Only pistol powder was absent.

That seems like it is over priced. You might try www.bullets.com they have powder and other reloading supplies.

It's overpriced by at least $50 based on whatever everyone else charges. Thanks for the tip about bullets.com. I saw that Ammoseek has them included on their bot but I don't think GunBot does so I've added them to my long list of vendors the keep checking.

HDMF04, thanks for mentioning bullets.com. Will include them in my future searches as they carry reloading components/equipment - http://www.bullets.com/shop/category_reloading

I have seen various "search bots" experience lag time for posting "in stock" items. They are "near realtime" not "realtime". ;) So if a vendor receives popular items in stock and you wait for them to show up on gunbot.net etc, they will likely be sold out before you see them listed.

I used to use gunbot, etc. to locate reloading components and 22LR but being frustrated seeing "out of stock" when I clicked on the gunbot links is the reason why I started this thread. Often, members will post "in stock" items for a particular vendor long before gunbot shows on its website (I have several times this past year).

For those not familiar with search bots, here are the links (there are also apps available for android/iphone):

http://download.cnet.com/Ammo-Bot/3000-31713_4-76159088.html (app for iOS for reloading supplies/ammo)

http://www.reloadersearch.com/ (no longer working)

Palmetto State Armory has CCI SV 40gr RN .22 LR in stock now at 11.9 cents/rd in the plastic boxes of 100.

Has anyone seen any of the Western powders, especially pistol, even locally? They seem to be MIA even more than most. I'd love to get my hands on some Zip or Silhouette.

did not see any H335 on a quick search today but Recobs has 1lb jars of 8208XBR for 22.99 ea limit 10. (I have ordered from them with no problems) I don't know what you are using it for but the 8208 worked well for me in .223. Meters well, seemed clean. I was using it for "blasting" ammo so I can't say if it would be as accurate as H335 for you but it has a good reputation for accuarcy.
The also have H322 8lbs $172.19 1lb $24.09

Recobs also has CCI 400 small rifle and #41 small rifle military in stock.
So if you need primers you could get it all for one hazmat.

Last time I checked Midway USA had a decent supply of primers.

Be careful ordering multiple hazmat items from Midway. They will many time source various powders and primers from different sources, and you will be charged a Hazmat from EACH source.

Thanks for the warning. That would rain out my parade in a hurry-
Nothing wrong with Midway I buy from them regularly. They are here in my state, so I get sales tax, I think their powder is usually sourced from Powder valley. Powder Valley, Recobs, Midsouth, Third Generation and many others shipr all from their address. I know Recob's and Powder valley have no problem with cramming all your powder and primers in one nice big box with only one hazmat fee.

I bought primers on special from Midsouth with NO hazmat free. It came via Fed Ex, which I dont like for "Hazardous" items, they will require an in person signature, which almost always results in me having to drive to the main location to pick up. UPS will dump it right in my driveway, which is easier on me!
