Where are reloading components available (Not a Discussion Thread)

The best price I can find on primers is at Midsouth shooters supply. They also have 8lb jugs of powder. they can ship up to 50Lbs. on a single hazmat charge so I ordered about 10,000 primers (I think around $27.50 per 1000) of CCI primers and i use bullseye for pistol and the 8lb jug was a great deal < $20 per pound I wanna say around $157 for a 8Lb. jug. They seem from my research to have the best prices on powder and primers however, not the best selection of bullets.

Just spoke to Wideners and they didn't mention going out of business. However, they will only sell limited reloading supplies, primarily bullets and cases, moving forward. Selling powder and primers was just too cost prohibitive for them according to the guy I spoke with.

Too bad. They had some fantastic weekly specials.

I emailed them when I noticed no primers or powder listed, especially with the prices on the last sale, here was their response:

I appreciate you reaching out to us about that. We continue to face higher costs to comply with regulations around the storage, sale, and shipping of powder and primers. You’ve probably noticed the increase in hazardous materials shipping fees, but that’s just a small part of the costs. We also face greater local, state, and federal regulations that place a difficult burden on retailers like us, who focus on serving the small reloader.

It was a hard decision to stop selling powder and primers because we have sold them for so long, and especially because several of us are avid reloaders ourselves. However, we will still offer bullets, casings, and pre-primed casings with the same friendly customer service our customers expect and deserve. We are also already going to work, expanding our selection of loaded ammunition to ensure we can be of help for shooters who enjoy every corner of the passion we all share.

Thank you,

Joe

Depends on how much you shoot and if you want or need multiples of 1000 or not. Some of us order a number of different types/calibers of bullets in multiples of 500 each. In that case, X-Treme's current sale is significantly cheaper than RMR. If you keep an eye out for X-Treme's sales and do a little planning ahead, X-Treme is also cheaper in the long run. I personally like X-Treme better than RMR, so that works well for me. Your mileage obviously varies.
