......specifically 38spl/357mag and 9mm luger, possibly 9mm mak, if we can recover enough cases from that brass chuckin' machine lol. i cannot find any local or my regular online suppliers and i am mostly interested in the lee 3 die carbide sets.

Kempf's has 9x19 and 9mm Mak in stock. They also show .357 Mag in stock but not .38/.357. The .357 specific set might work for .38 in a pinch, especially if you use a separate crimp die:

They have the deluxe die sets for both 9x19 and .38 Spl/.357 in stock also:

I've ordered several times from them and have been very impressed.

Just bought a full reloading setup at the Cabelas in Dundee, MI. They didn't seem to be out of anything. Had four different flavors of dies for .45-70, which was what I was after.

thanks guys i put in a order at midway for the 38/357 about a month ago, along with a new mold with no luck so far, backorder is confusing. maybe ill cancel the order and get my stuff from kempfs, what is there shipping like as far as how fast and rates?

I've just ordered and waited.

My .40 dies have been on backorder since Feb.

Should be no difference between a .38 Special & .357 Magnum die sets, you'd just have to adjust the belling & seating dies. Seem to recall RCBS would supply a spacer ring (1/10"?) in their .38/.357 die sets that you placed between the lock ring & press on the beller & seater dies to alleviate the need for physical adjustment.

ill just ride it out at midway for 38 stuff i alreadyordered since i still have my wackamole setup but ill order my other stuff at kempfs since it is in stock, how many days does it take them to ship normally or whereabout are they located since im breaking in my sportsters rebuilt motor and still gotta ride easy for about 250 more miles.

I've purchased several die sets in the last few weeks from Cabela's retail store in Boise, and also online.

Kempf's is in Indiana IIRC. Generally shipping is pretty fast. I ordered some dies and ammo boxes from them on Friday of last week and got them yesterday.

Kempf's is in Indiana IIRC.
It's in Michigan City, IN. Call 'em. They actually (usually) answer the phone and will check inventory. I was going to stop by last week to get some Lee 22-250 dies but they didn't have them. They typically stock a LOT of dies, but have trouble getting some just like everyone else.

I use Midway USA, Midsouth Shooters Supply, or Natchez Shooters Supply, Cabelas, and Bass Pro. Usually one of them will have what I want in stock. For reloading I prefer Midway or Natchez.

Of late all the bigger local stores have had dies in stock. Cabelas, Bass Pro, and then some of the larger but non-chain stores have a good selection of dies. I would look around for a good local store. Normally price on dies is within a few bucks and you don't wait. They aren't something you get a great deal on online that you wouldn't at a decent brick and mortar shop.

die sets

i recently sold a set of lee carbide dies for 38/357 on ebay. you can find alot of different offerings there. you may pay a little premium depending on make or caliber. my set sold for around 35.00. you can also order from larger distributors like cabela's or some of the other supply operations. many times, i click on the banner advertisers of the various forum sites and check their links etc.--i found a 45 lock n load shell plate, lee gang molds etc--and ordered items in stock at list prices and with no back order issues. let your fingers do the walking through the internet--you will be successful.:uhoh:

factorysales.com . They're a lee wholesaler. First order back in January was delayed due to the fact everybody and their sister was buying, last order took 2 weeks. I have an order in now that will pretty much complete all I need for the moment and we'll see how long that takes but I expect 2 weeks unless some component hasn't been put thru the mfg process (.30/.30 dies were the only item that took long to ship but that was due to LEE not factorysales.com . A poster here will chime in about the bad service they had with them, I forget his name, mine has been good. That's not to disparage what he says he went thru. My service has been good which is why I've ordered 3 times from them in the last 6 mos.

Where? Gunbroker.com, after RCBS told me that the wait time for a die order would be at least three weeks. Picked up a very gently used, RCBS 9mm carbide set for $32 which is roughly half of retail. Good luck on the 9Mak dies as those are really expensive. I do know where there is a set sitting in a gun store that is listed for (I think) $60. Contact me off line if you're really desperate to get the dies for the 9Mak and I'll give you the contact info.

Cabelas

Just place the order at Cabelas On Line. When they receive them, they will ship them. It is a big company and they seem to be doing a good job of getting the reloading equipment.

I waited for Midway (cheaper) but they never got them. Cabales got them after about 2 weeks. Those that have firm orders will ship first.

midway finally shipped my stuff .....after about a month:banghead:. not here yet. kemps was good had it in stock got the lee 9mm mak and luger, just waiting on shipping now:D

+1 on Cabela's, but I have to admit that I've also ben waiting on 38/357 dies (Lee) for 2 months and counting now...
