I've been trying to find a decent source for "generic" (i.e. not the expensive Hornaday, etc.) bullets. I usually buy from Scheels, but I don't get down to a town with a Scheels store often. I'm hoping to find a decent online seller, do you guys recommend any? I need bullets for .45 ACP, 10MM/40S&W, 9MM, and .38/.357.

I just placed an order for 1k 200gr. LSWC and 1k 230gr. LRN from Mastercast. They should ship in a week or so. Prices on the website are accurate, as of last week.

The can fit this all in one box to save on shipping.

I've had very good luck with Laser-Cast from Oregon Trail.

A few weeks ago I ran 50 of their 45-70 405 gr. through my Marlin 1895 and had no leading. Velocity was 1150 fps per my chrono.

Note their prices include shipping.

I make my own, and the price is outstanding! The quality is also first rate.........

Hope this helps.

Fred

PS: Sorry, but I couldn't resist...

I was going to say something similar, like, "my garage". If you can afford a few bucks to get a ladle, mould, a pot, a heat source, gloves, eye protection, some wheel weight ingots, (good place to shop for ALL this used is at castboolits.gunloads.com ), plus a few minor extras, then you could make yours in a nice well ventilated area, too.

Yep, all my cast bullets fall out of my molds.

I was fortunate to inherit a nice bottom pour lead pot, along with a few molds, and a couple hundred pounds of lead. .38 Special loads only cost a primer and a pinch if Titegroup, usually cheaper than shooting 22s.

kinda like jesse all mine come from my back yard. i have thousands made right now. then i have about 50lbs of soft lead and about 65 lbs of hard lead on stock so im sitting pretty good right now.

Search stonewall bullets.... Really nice guy cheap prices and his bullets shoot very well for me... I just ordered 1000 9mm and 500 45's... They all shot well and I'll be ordering more 9mm's and some 40's and 357's.

Two Sources

1) Magnus Bullets or 2) Roze Distributors; both located in Alabama.

I'm certainly not in a position to quote prices, in todays crazy metals
market; but Roze distributes for Zero Bullet Company of Cullman, AL.
I have used their products in the past, and back then if you bought
a 1,000 round count of their lead bullets; the freight would be prepaid.
Like I said, I don't know if that offer still stands; but its worth checking
into~! :scrutiny: ;)

Mastercastbullets.com

For those that I don't cast myself, I now buy EXCLUSIVELY from Mike at Mastercastbullets ( [email protected] ).

I've been shooting for over forty years and handloading for more than half that time. I've never gotten better, more consistent groups than I have with Mike's bullets. No leading, no flyers, no problems. Just damn tight groups.

He's also a helluva nice guy to deal with, has very competitive prices and will bulk ship.

For FL people, I like Space Coast Bullets up in Cocoa Beach. Good bullets at good prices, they go I think to most of the FL gunshows. They sell out of their store but as of mid last year they didn't have a website. I used to buy most of my cast bullets from them before I started casting my own.

Another thing worth looking at is Brassman Brass.com in Las Vegas. Their website has a monthly deal section and once in a while I'd pounce on some good deals there. Not just brass but oddball lots of different kinds of bullets too. Picked up a couple thousand 9mm 125LRNs there for $35 per 1000 last year, including the shipping.

Thanks for the replies guys! I wasn't expecting so much good info, hopefully this thread will help out others looking for the same thing.
