The only .45acp ammo I see in stock online is shot shells and hydrashocks at about $1/shot!

Online suggestions anyone?

I recommend Wallyworld or gunshows. Online prices have gone nuts on .45 plinking ammo plus you have to pay hazmat shipping.

fearless leader,on both links eveything says out of stock lol.Meh some of my guns just stay silent for now.

On Gunbroker Wolf is commanding $20+s/h per box?!

Fearless, the only thing purchasable at either link:
graf has shotshells at $1.35/shot
midway has a backorder purchase option on a 20-box of Buffalo Bore for $1.40/shot!

That is insane to use for plinking!

Unfortunately there is no Wallyworld or local gunshows where I live

Cabela's should have some in next week on line. They have it in stock in most stores. Bass Pro Shop has it in stock for a whole bunch (with shipping around $.90/ per)

Might be time to think about reloading...

45 ACP is a particularly easy caliber to load. You can get all the equipment you need for under $200 if you buy Lee. My cost is around 12 cents per round IIRC.

I use a 4-hole turret system and cal load around 150 rounds an hour taking my time.

Components are a little scarce right now, but you can find them if you look hard enough.

Try Wideners

I got a butt load of Wolf from them recently, and they seemed to be well stocked.

WOOPS; should've checked before posting.

I would check in with wideners often, though.
Seems like they restock more often than the huge sites.

October 2008.

I live in a metro area of about 250,000 people and no store has ammo on the shelf. It's gone from bad to worse. On the bright side, the range is empty.

Primers CAN be had - you gotta be patient an' surf LOTS of websites. Don't ask how ah know...

On the loaded ammo - you'll have better luck makin' runs at the stores than ya will online, in my experience. Since I started handloading again, though, I hardly pay 'em any mind.;)
