This broken gun i just got is going to be harder then i thought to fix. I figured i could just get a pietta parts kit and drop the parts in and start shooting. LOL what a joke that was.

I got a Remington parts kit off cabelas and it came in today but the 2 parts i need dont even fit they are to thick.

Maybe i need Uberti parts?

Weird thing i have a lyman kit my dad built in the 70s and all th eparts from that kit fit this one fine i had a feeling they were simmilar. i put the hammer and trigger in it and everything worked fine. I figured i could put the pietta parts in the lyman but thats a big fat fail.

Anyone know where i can get different parts for these older guns? Not sure if dixie has the right ones or not.

Here is a few images.

I know i could file it down to fit but i thought if i could get the correct hammer i could save the pietta parts for the many piettas i have insted.

Dixie used to sell parts made by Euroarms.
I don't know where you can find a source for ASM parts, which is I think who made the Lyman kit guns.

Hey Bower, Years back I put new hammers on both my Colt reproes, I bought new hammers from Dixie. They were both too thick. I just flat sanded them on a board until they fit. I even left the sides brightly polished as it made them look like my real Colt SAA. It takes a little work but you can get the fit perfect.

yeah im looking to cheat with a machine. Soon as i can find my tools

.015" seems like alot of sanding plus this hammer has been case hardened.

I figure if i leave it raw then cold blue it eventually it will look like the rest of the gun. lol

Did you have any issues with the curve of the hammer?
