Hi folks, I decided to go ahead and convert my Saiga. Im going to want to duracoat while I am in the process but I have a few questions.
1) Do I coat everything in the receiver except the bolt and the hammer/springs? Do I spray the crown? Do I spray the parts that the bolt slides along? (sorry I don't know what everything is called?

2) Can I spray this thing outside? I don't have a garage, only a carport. I can close the privacy screens inside of my gazebo and spray it in there if wind is a problem....

Thanks for any advice on this

Yes, once you pull your 'hammer/springs', you can paint everything. The parts the bolt carrier slides along are called the 'guide rails'.

It goes on very nicely too. Make sure you have adequate ventilation because that stuff will fill a room up very quickly. I didn't coat anything inside the reciever at all.
I took a hanger and hung the parts up in my garage from the ceiling

I made a make-shift paint booth. I had some metal shelving so I taped off the back and hung the parts from coat hanger wire. It worked out well. I sprayed using the booth in a screened in porch.

Make sure you have a good air filter somewhere in the air compressor line to catch any water. The duracoat goes on pretty good so you shouldn't have too many problems as long as the parts are prepped properly.
