I buy older guns for the most part, collectible guns, so I buy them wherever I can find them. Many are from online sources, some FTF that I usually locate on forums such as this one, some from gun shows. I've had good luck with all venues because I know what I'm looking for and I do my due diligence before pulling the trigger, to coin a phrase.
I have read where some people say they have had bad experiences with oinline sellers. Know your seller, check his reputation, get enough images (clear sharp ones) so you are satisfied that is what you're paying for, and be sure exactly what condition the gun is in before closing a deal.
