I will only buy used guns from Kieth's as his policy of not standing behind the warranty of the NIB firearms he sells do not sit well with me. He also charges more for credit cards so I always write him a check!!

Lars........PM and emil sent re: price check on CMP Garand op-rod

Yeah, Keith charges like 2 or 3% for credit card purchases. He also called me picky, the bastard. He has good prices, but you have to pay cash. NW Armory is a good overall. Gunbroker is expensive.

Im gonna be looking for a pistol soon ..Thinking of a Taurus .357 anyone know if any of these have them ..I can call but just curious..Thanks Gresham or Oregon city are pretty close to me

Unfortunately, I live in California these days.....

but I've been acquainted with Warren at the Gun Room since about 1966 or so. I knew the late Dick Neville who originally owned the Gun Room.

In a perverse way, I'm kind of fond of Warren. I don't know why, every mean thing said about him herein has been true. Still, you know what to expect from him. Probably, it's just the memory of those days of my youth.

Anyone remember when Andy & Bax sold guns down on Broadway/Union Avenue in Portland? Or the pawn shops on Third Avenue, downtown? (Vine's and two others I don't remember...) Or Bwana Junction?

Time marches on. W. C. Fields was right about youth and the young, by the way.

Oh, about clubbing people with Glocks. If you hit the underside of the front of the slide just right, you can flex the frame and pop the slide off. Usually just the front two frame supports.

As a CA resident who visits Oregon often, I'm dismayed that I can't even buy rifles there. Is this a "cannot" or a "will not" issue for Oregon dealers? At least under federal law I can buy long guns in different states, but does Oregon have some state law against selling to CA residents?

Places to buy guns in Oregon

Several posters have covered Keith's and Northwest Armory. Both are good. Two smaller firms are Al's Guns which has a Forest Grove phone number but is actually located in Verboort, Oregon. Stan, the owner, is an ex sniper, ex cop, and is extremely knowledgeable about guns. He's extremely nice but extremely blunt. Prices can be high. The Powderhorn in Forest Grove is more of a gunsmith's shop than a sales place but they will place orders and get what you want. Don Hunker, the owner and head gunsmith is simply excellent. Good shooting:)

No one has mentioned the Sportsmans' Warehoulse,in Salem but soon to open in Calckamas.I like their stores, and the people seem ok too.NOt sure about prices as I don't buy many guns, just shoot the heck outta what I got.:)
I know they are higher than wal mart, etcetera, but they have a thousand times the stuff too.

YOu guys have also given ME a place or three to checout.thanks!!!
