Is there people really casting bullets in a new wave of reloading like never before or are people just buying it all up. My buddy dropped my 45acp mold on the concrete today and it's done. It was a cheap lee no big deal... I cant find a replacement to save my life including noe lyman and rcbs. Anyone have a line on a #68 style 200 swc for 45.... are people hoarding molds now the Ebay prices are insane

Sadly, I think a lot of it is being bought up by people who don't understand how to use it. Same for projectiles, almost every bullet maker's site I go onto says "THIS IS NOT LOADED AMMO" as new folks are buying it thinking it is.

Would be better for everyone if people calmed down some before they bought stuff they can't use.

I got nervous about not being able to replace my favorite mold which is the Lee 200 grain HG 68 clone you lost. Looked around and found the same thing you did, everything is out of stock. Just ordered a replacement/backup from Arsenal with as many cavities as they woudl allow (5?). Looking like they have a 6 week backlog. Still a decent deal considering the Lee HG 68 I was watching on ebay went for $155 plus shipping.

Leave it to a buddy to screw everything up.
I don't know where it's all gone, I'm trying to start doing a little and have a few molds but not many.
By the way, how messed up is it https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/wtb-cheap-bullet-mold-n-il.881895/
I'm looking for a cheap messed up mold.
Sorry, no help on finding a replacement .
I had a 230 grn tumble lube cone. It casts bullets weighing 241ish grains. I did not see wasting a bunch of superhard on bullets that were so low pressure. The sprue plate dinged one of the cavities and threw up a big bur. If I was at my dads house I might just try and deck the top on the mill. Not going to toss it but it's not functional till I find a cost effective way to fix it.

I know what you mean- I tried to find an 8mm Mauser mold or a .223 mold, no dice, but they weren't really needed, just a thought. If I drop may favorite mold I have a back up. I won't like it, but it works...

I've been reloading for several years, but am just now starting to think about getting into casting. I found the same "out of stock" notices you did. Clearly this is not a good time to start casting, Iol.

It called “Stuff (you know what stuff I mean) rolls downhill”.

Ammo getting scarce leads to reloading items and components getting scarce leads to casting components getting scarce and then it moves on to black powder items and it will eventually lead to air guns and probably archery gear if things keep up long enough.

I started getting the casting itch early last year. Equipment was plentiful then. By the end of summer I had acquired 3 molds. Now, with spring around the corner, I'd like to add a couple more molds. Wow, what a difference 1 year makes.

I'm fortunate to have enough components on hand. But I never would have guessed casting equipment would have fallen into the panic abyss.

I bought everything I needed about six months back. Titan reloading had consistent restock of some items as did midway. My wait for stuff wasn't bad once the decision was made.

Molds are much tougher now but after ordering from mp,noe, arsenal i can say from each experience.

Mp first, arsenal second, noe maybe but was some run around getting the order right.

My hallmark for when the "stuff" is getting real is when the country mom-n-pop store sells their last dusty, dingy box of imported .32S&W Long 100gr. Pistol Match lead wadcutter on the shelf.

I went by the local m-n-p this weekend to say "Hi!' - and they were all out of .32S&W Long...
